Been here many times, and it is always a pleasure to come back for the delicious food, and the special atmosphere in the restaurant.

The place is a bit tight but cozy. The lower level is where the hajah makes the thin turkish bread and fatayer. A very nice scene. Unfortunately it makes the lower level too hot in the summer. I ate there 4 times in 10 days. I enjoyed it every time. The staff sometime don't understand English well but it works... More

We spent several days in Istanbul and we simply had no good luck finding food that didn't taste bland. That is, until we discovered Marko PASA on a side street. The food was flavorful and you can watch a little old lady sitting in the front window as she makes fresh dough for dishes on the spot. The service everywhere... More

If you're looking for a great, authentic Turkish restaurant on the İstiklal, then Marko Paşa is a great choice. The Kavurma is an excellent meal choice, as is the Gözleme, which also is great to split as an appetizer. Prices are reasonable and the service was good even with 25 people in our party.

We wandered in off of Istiklal St after not being able to find our recommended spot. However, we were not disappointed by choosing Marko Pasa. The flatbreads made by the lady in the window were delicious beyond description. They Chicken & the Beef Kavrum were also a treat; a huge plate of chicken, vegetables and rice served in a well... Sometimes it is not so easy to find good food in foreign countries because menus are so complicated and names of the food do not tell anything. In this restaurant we told the waiter what we want to eat and he understood our needs perfectly. I have never had so good food in Turkey. We got two large plates full... More

Not so clean but picturesque. Very good and tasty food. Manti was great here. A good thing is that you can have a beer or a glass of good Turkish wine accompanying the food.

I've just indulged one of those with spinach and feta cheese and I really enjoyed it! I didn't try anything else from the menu cause I took it away. The concept of the lady in front of the restaurant who makes the pancakes and the ravioli straight ahead it was really tempting and made me order one. I would try... More

We came in during our walk on the main street. The lady making the dough in the window was quiet promising and the place didn't disappoint us. Everything was really authentic and tasty. The big selection plate of mezze is highly recommended and it's a good idea to try the gözleme which is the specialty of the place (freshly made... More
