Very traditional little restaurant

We were walking around Taksim and stumbled across this lovely restaurant and thought we would try it as it looked traditional. There was a lady sat in the window making fresh bread and this was what we were served with some hummus (the best we have had so far in Istanbul!) The food was traditional... read more

We were looking for a restaurant that looked traditional. We were walking down from Taksim Square and we saw this restaurant with this old lady baking some kind of crepes and after having a look to the menu, we decided to try it. When we reached our table, we saw this leaflets daring us to rate the restaurant on Trip... More

The staff welcomed us in and walk us through the whole menu. All the food was excellent and a great price. They even wrapped some extra bread up for us to take with us without us asking. The bread is delicious!

Probably the best meal we had in Istanbul. The Manti was certainly the best I've ever had--anywhere. Wide range of authentic Turkish dishes from different parts of the country, prepared perfectly. Excellent, personal service, and exceptional value. Tucked away in a side street near Taksim Square, this is easy to miss--but I'm glad we stumbled across it.

2 foodies on a trip and this was one of the best restaurants we visited! We ordered many dishes and split them so we got to taste at least 5 different local dishes. Extra points of sympathy for the lady on the base floor making local "crepes".
