We just had the most fun and relaxed with the friendly and down to earth waiters. The food was excellent and the restaurant was somehow both in a quiet area and then there were also people passing to keep the atmosphere. So just go and enjoy.

Havin lunch in the shade, with a soft breeze, drinking natural juices and heating the best Kebab, pizza and salad. The place is decorated with persian carpets and turkish lamps and furniture, the staff is really nice and chatty. It's located in the restaurants street that's on the back street of the Blue Mosque, look around and you'll find it.

We had an evening meal here 2 days ago following recommendations from Trip Advisor, and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic, the service was lovely and friendly, and it's right in the heart of things. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Istanbul!

Are people really crazy for calling this a cafe? Are we in the 1800 year or something? How is this a cafe... some old building with sleeze waiters will not make it a cafe. Prices are ridicilous for this low quality.

We enjoyed Cafe Rumist. The staff was very friendly, especially Harron (Harry), who enjoys practicing his English on the tourists. The place was clean and the food was very good. My wife and daughter are vegetarian and they were able to accommodate them. (Note: ask for the lentil soup without butter) There were a number of Turkish/Anatolian choices as well... More

We at here at the end of May and returned just before we left Turkey in early June. The owner was welcoming and the staff incredibly friendly; they even remembered us our second time around! As a vegetarian, I often found menus in Istanbul limiting. But at Cafe Rumist the owner enthusiastically placed an order for me, a delicious, vegetable... More
