The only restaurant near Sultan Ahmet that doesn't serve alcohol

Great food. Great service. Warm and cozy. And most importantly, it is the the only (based on our knowledge) restaurant near Sultan Ahmet that doesn't serve alcohol. That's why we went their more than once. Highly recommended!!

Went past this a few times before deciding to dine in. Food was very cheap and delicious, and the free bread and dipping sauce were so tasty. Staff are very nice and we got 10% off by showing the leaflet. Definitely recommend this for eating and relaxing.

I have been traveling in Istanbul with my family and we have visited this restaurant more than 3 times each time we tried different dishes but my favorite by far is the hot pot clay kebab. The owner told me a little about the dish and informed me that it is cooked in a wood oven fire and you can... More

I do recommend Rumist, it's a comfy coffee and dinner lounge with very good typical turkish food. Price is fair and the staff is very pleasant.

My sister and I were staying around the corner from Rumist and Omar actually helped us find our hostel when we wandered past it on our first day in Istanbul. We came back on New Year's Eve and it was definitely a night to remember. The food is great, the atmosphere is terrific, and the staff is super friendly and... More

Found this wonderful place by accident on our first venture out from our hotel. then went back five times over the next three days, usually for a quick drink before going further afield - service, drinks and nibbles were all great. In fact, so good we decided to have our last night meal there.

I spent two weeks In Istanbul. It was my favorite spot To hangout To start and finish my days. A place to prepare for the day Of visit around a cup Of turkish coffee or tea. A place to chillout In the evening or to prepare for the party In taxim. The staff is funny, easy going and always at... More

Not only is this a great restaurant for food, but its also an awesome place to just relax. Over my eight day stay, I swear that I actually spent more time drinking apple tea, reading, and spinning yarns with the staff than anywhere else in Istanbul. Moreover, the staff make you feel at home; its simple, you treat them well,... More

As a group of 8 we ate outside under the heating, which was perfect for the chilly November weather. Delicious food and wonderful staff, always serving with a smile. What more can you ask for?

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
