After a morning touring the Palace, Cafe Rumist proved to be a great spot for good food, comfortable surroundings and a most congenial host. The Owner, Ibrahim, stopped by our table to chat, and after we asked him for tips on buying carpets, he invited us to his warehouse where he showed us a variety of just beautiful carpets. He... Great little spot in the heart of old Istanbul. Food is reasonably priced for a very touristy area. The staff is incredibly nice and not bothersome. The owner, a friendly Turkish man, will sit down with you and treat you to a free tea and appetizer. Gorgeous view of surrounding medieval neighborhoods. Lots of good, traditional dishes. I decided to... More

Fantastic restaurant, brilliant service and a superb selection of Turkish food. The grills & hot pot clay kebob very good, these are completely different meaning to a doner kebab! Lovely corner to sitting, eating & relaxing reasturant.

The food at this place was most likely the best we had in Istanbul. The restaurant had a large selection of vegetarian dishes to choose from which were very tasty and fresh. The staff spoke good English and catered for us very well, the atmosphere was very relaxed and we very much enjoyed eating here. I would definitely recommend a... More

It's more like a 'home' style restaurant, at the same time the food is good, I actually remeber the pomegranate juice and lentil soup the most (and you can get that elsewhere), but the meat is also good. Still the 'home' atmpsphere is the key idea of the place.

Have had a couple of enjoyable experiences at Rumist over the last few days. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food - especially the Esme - is terrific. On a cold winter's day it is a warm haven.

Stopped here after visiting the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapı Palace, the restaurant was recommended by our tour guide. It was a very good recommendation.
