In the heart of the touristy Old-town area. This is good food and great nice people with and owner who is present. We likes everything we order. Would come again.

Finding good Turkish food in Istanbul isn't difficult but finding it in the touristy area of Sutanahmed just outside the "Blue Mosque" without being harassed is not so easy. Unless you chose to eat at Cafe Rumist. The atmosphere and vibe is very cool with hanging gourd lanterns and glass lanterns everywhere. I despise cigarette smoke so having outdoor seating... More

You must eat there at least once! They have excellent turkish cousine, the place is very lovely! Even in cold you can eat outside under the heaters. It is not expensive, you can have a dinner for 20-30 lira. I love it! :)

One of the best restaurants in Istanbul's Sultanahmet district. Staff is very friendly and the food is great. Be sure to have some of the fresh oven bread and try the Iskandar.

We went to breakfast at Cafe Rumist and had a great time. The staff were very helpful and attentive. They turned on the heating system just for us since we were sitting outside on the couches. The food and drinks were very good. My only dislike was that the coffee was only lukewarm and since I had been cold I... More

We visited having read the reviews on trip advisor and our expectations were more than met! The atmosphere was very relaxed, with the family bustling round either waiting or preparing food - always friendly and wanting to make sure we were happy. The food was very good, with the highlight being the clay pot testis kebab - great theatre and... More

Delicious food served by charming and funny staff made for a very enjoyable evening. The young man on the door was very polite when trying to entice us in too - we'd already decided to visit after reading Trip Advisor reviews! We sat outside under the awning, which was filled with brilliantly coloured lamps for sale and added to the... More

We had lunch here in March 2014 on a pleasant, sunny afternoon. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Recommended!

Lovely food and relaxing atmosphere. Will come again if in the area. Good price for food and water-pipe only 20 lira, loads of flavours to choose from.

We visited Cafe Rumist on the basis of its Tripadvisor ratings and were very pleased with the meal, which was tasty, attractive and prompt in arriving. The lavas (poof) bread was delicious and the testi kebab cooked in the clay pot was outstanding (the entertainment value of any flaming dish cannot be overstated). Unfortunately, it's the little things that annoy.... More
