Very good

We ate here the first night in Istanbul, and it did not disappoint. Delicious food, but a little more spendy than you might find in other places.

Arrived for lunch today after reading trip advisor reviews. Restaurant very busy with an even mix of Turk and tourist. Had Chicken Shish and it was wonderful. Very friendly Staff and good service. Freshly baked Turkish bread brought the table, yummy. Located opposite very swish hotel. Definitely will come here again!

After a day of viewing one of the most interesting cities in the world we ate lunch at the lovely restaurant. In Istanbul we had a private tour with dailyistanbultours.ozzy@gmail.com (a Trip Adviser listed tour) and after a lot of walking we ended up here - just after fininshing our tour of the Hagia Sofia. The restaurant is located on... More

Just across the road from the Sura Hagia Sofia hotel this restaurant stands out as one of the best in a crowded market of restaurants. They seem to have established themselves as a leader and should be a lesson for some of the other places nearby about what to do to attract good reviews from travellers. Service was excellent and... This was a bustling restaurant, we went early and got the last table. It then after 30mins was packed. Excellent bread, lamb kebabs and mountain salad was enjoyed for a very reasonable price. Was great for people watching too!

The waiters were great and so was the food & wine. And it was very reasonably priced, too. Location is convenient and easy to find. It's in a sort of touristy street but that was part of the fun. Highly recommend!

We were a large family group and were staying very close by the Khorasani Restaurant. We happened to sit down on our first day in Istanbul for lunch and had an amazing meal. The puff bread was to die for, add a little butter and your in heaven. The meals were absolutely one of the best we had throughout our... More

Khorasani Restaurant was definitely the best restaurant that I ate at while in Turkey. I was in Turkey 3 years ago as well as a few days ago and I had a superb experience. The place was packed, so obviously we were not the only ones who thought that the restaurant was exceptional. Mehmet, the owner made us feel right... More

Everything we had was very tasty, but Bodrum Cokertme was the best. The waiters are also very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
