Awesome hole in the wall

Not sure why LP is rating this place so low. This place is a hidden gem for those that like great hole in the wall restaurants. The food is cheap and good, the place is clean, and service is good. The menu is simple in a good way. We had ayran, rice, bean salad (we had a special one with... read more

We had been told about this place many times before we visited Istanbul so it was a must. 6 of us visited the restaurant one evening and although the restaurant had a queue we were seated quickly . The menu is very basic and straight forward.... koftes and beans but that's the beauty of this place. A basket of bread... More

I came here for lunch based on recommendations I'd seen in the forums, and it was in line with my expectations. I was seated quickly and the service was prompt and friendly, without ever seeming like there was any pressure to move me or any other customers through. I had the kofte with rice and a coke with some pudding... More

This restaurant is good to try a basic Turkish food or for a quick snack. It's also good when you're really hungry and want to have a generous portion of good quality Meal. It is probably less appropriate for gourmet experience or for special occasions. Menu is short: just a couple main dishes, few salads and standard drinks. This place... More

This place has had a name for a while now. Ate here several years ago, it has now lost its charm. Kofte is OK, not as good as it once was. Prices are inflated. Atmosphere is like an average restaurant. Service is quick. I had to warn one waiter to stop winking at a girl on our table. That was... More

food was just OK - which is not what you expect from such a popular place with reputation for being among the best places in Istanbul

We stopped in to get some takeout meatball sandwiches while in the area. Sandwiches were excellent. Great sandwiches at a great price.

Although this is supposedly one of the oldest and best kofte restaurants in Istanbul, the hype does not live up to the food or the experience of eating here. The kofte was rubbery, the salad tasteless, and the lentil soup not up to par with other places we had eaten in Istanbul. To top it off, the server was rude,... More

This is where the locals eat and i can see why. It is sort of fast food but excellent beef meatballs and chips and salad.fast efficient and not too expensive.

I think Istanbul has far better food to offer. This place has average kofte, 15 liras per plate, fries and a tasteless salad are each charged separately. I could not understand why it has so many reviews, I did not thing it was all that great. The kofte are ok bit not amazing, I have had far better kofte. The... More
