This place has ridiculously delicious kofte. We were staying close by so we ducked in there several times during our stay. On our last night in Istanbul we just had to get one last plate of kofte there. It's a no frills place with paper napkins, limited menu options, and grumpy waiters but who needs menu options when you can... More

We really enjoyed having lunch here. The menu is not very variate but the plates they serve (lentil soup, lamb shish kebab, kofte, salads, bread and yogurt) are simple and delicious. The price is reasonable considering they are two minutes away from the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The service was efficient and the place was unexpectedly full of... More

This is a review of the Sultanahmet Köftecisi at the address Divanyolu 12, across from the Blue Mosque. Don't go there! We paid TL 93.50 (~$46) for three köftes, one kebab, a plate of fries, two Cokes and two small bottles of water - about 20 lire more than we have been paying for bigger, better meals while here in... Perfect kofte actually the best. Place is humble but clean and as other reviews said it is the place you go to eat and leave immediately. I really recommend it

I came here based on the positive reviews from TA and my guide book. There are multiple "Sultanahmet Koftecisi's" right next to each other on this street so make sure you're in the right one. This restaurant is located directly across from the Hippodrome/Blue Mosque/Hagia Sophia. I was seated right away by the staff and given a menu. I selected... More

Located across the street from the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia, this unassuming restaurant had a secret - some of the best kebab in Istanbul. My girlfriend and I stumbled in there with low expectations given its location near all the tourist sites. The menu is very simple at this restaurant - kebab and a few sides. Yet the kebab... More

This restaurant is close to Basilica Cistern and Hagia Sophia. We came here for lunch around noon and didn’t have to wait for a table but it filled up fast. The menu was small. We ordered the salad and the lamb shish kebab since we don’t eat beef. The lamb shish kebab was good. The service was efficient. It was... More

It is said, they serve the best köfte in Istanbul, sure, it can be. But the spice sauce they give additional as dip to the plate, is kind of unbelievable, however it is really spicy, so take care! Everything is quite simple and you will be served very rush, so this is not the place where you can sit hours... More

This place is believed to be the oldest koftecisi restaurant in the area, but it is really a canteen, serving a very limited amount of food. The star dish is bland and you need a whole load of chilli paste for any sort of flavour. The bean salad is ok. It is reasonably priced. I would recommend you look elsewhere... More

This place was a very pleasant surprise. Most people order the lentil soup to begin with and follow it up with the kofte, pickle and butter milk. It served one of the softest kofte (meatballs) i've had at such reasonable prices. The service was prompt and the place was full of locals and tourists alike. The fact that is is... More
