good business

I read a blog, which recommended this place. It is near the Blue Mosque. It has limited selection, but runs the business effectively. I ordered the famous chicken meatball and a small salad. They tasted well; the price was reasonable; the service was quick; the ambient was comforting.

So good! The menu was very limited which, I think, made this place even better (quicker decision-making). We came here twice during our 5-day stay and both times ordered Izgara Köfte, Piyaz, and salad with red pickled cabbage. My mouth is watering as I type this. I still dream about the lamb. And the service is fast, especially after having... More

A family friend recommended this place and I am so glad she did. We stayed 5 days in Istanbul and ate 3 times here, we loved their meatballs. We went once for dinner ( around 7pm, before the Ramadan crowds) and twice for lunch. We always order the meatballs, fries, and the tomato salad. I had the rice pudding once,... More

Tasty and speedy kofte kebabs. The fesulye salad and hot sauce adds some extra deliciousness for your sandwiches. Definitely need to give it a try while visiting the historic sites.

I passed by during Ramazan and saw the long line outside the restaurant, all the locals waiting for Iftar (time when they are allowed to eat). I thought this must be a good sign and I tried the Köfte there. The meal including the salad was very fresh and good. However I can't understand those ecstatic reviews on this restaurant.... More

Quality food, plenty of it and very reasonably priced! Cheap and cheerful establishment with no airs and graces but really good food. Worth noting, it's a dry restaurant so if you want a bet you'll need to go elsewhere afterwards...with a very full tummy!

The place is simple, does not accept cards for payment, however the food is succulent and cheap. This is a well known fast food restaurant/dining place that serves quality homemade food. Try it!

Recommended this place by Hotel for amazing meatballs. They weren't wrong - really very tastey indeed. The overal experience though was 'rushed' to say the least. If only we had been allowed to sit for while and really savour and enjoy our meal that would have been perfect. We arrived @ 7pm and were out of there by 7.40pm -... More

The staff are quick and lovely and the food is the topest of the delicious Turkish cuisine you could hope for. Price is reasonable. Always popular. Kofte (meatballs) come in two main options: on a plate served with rice/mashed potatoes and grilled pepper and grilled tomato; or koftes in half a loaf of bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onions (if requested)... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
