The service was rapid. We shared our table with three couples in the time it took us to eat a three courses meal. The restaurant was full of locals. The kofta was delicious. 75 TL for 2 people!

This restaurant offers a very limited menu, but still it has the best Kebab in town. The lentil soup is to die for, especially when you add chili pepper to it. this place is always busy, specially by locals. I have visited Istanbul twice and every time i eat at this restaurant because it offers typical Turkish food with a... More

It is a nice place across Sultanahmet Square and Mosque (The Blue Mosque). If you are lucky you may find a table in front of the windows and watch the square, history, people while you enjoy the nice köfte. It is a little bit expensive for the Turkish standarts but quite cheap for Western people.

Best kefta in town. Really wow and service is really fast. I would totally recommend it, you have to eat at this restaurant at least once.

Known for its history, it was a “must” that we ate at Sultanahmet Koftecisi! For a tourist, it’s in a perfect location and offers classic Turkish foods at a very reasonable cost! Just minutes, walking, from Blue Mosque/Hagia Sofia. And, there’s even a tramvay stop right in front of the restaurant. We ate there for a late dinner, we were... More

Mostly locals, nice short menu - really good köfte and very good spice paste. Quick service, very rapid turnover and nicely done inside - with a traditional feel. It's not a 5 star restaurant, but it is good value.

Of all the touristy places, locals do still come to this place. Its famous for its deep fried mince kebabs. I would stick to the kofte, though the shish kebabs aren't bad either. They have a nuce terrace to sit in for summer time.

Sultanahmet Köftecisi was recommended by locals, reinforced by the guide at Sultanahmet mosque, but cautioned about going to this one as the name is a generic one, and there is more than one in the area. This one claims to have been around for 94 years and the meatball is the specialty. We enjoyed the food, added the spice paste... More

Finding a typical restaurant, with no tourists trap in Sultanhamet is a big issue. Our hotel adviced us about this place: we trust him, and now we are happy to have done. Dishes are cooked on the fire, they are very tasty and very well-cooked. We took two Lamb Kofte, one fries and two bottles of water (plus the service):... More

Salads in a puddle of water, French fries warmed over. Recommended by DK Eyewitness, not a reliable source apparently.
