Delicious but expensive

Kofte (meetballs) were really delicious but I think you get better value for money in Kofteci Ramiz where you can find exactly the same menu for pretty much half price. Any restaurant near Sultanahmet District was quite dear.

Very simple food but the koftas were delicious. We also got bread and sauce free for starters which were also great. Very good value for money, good for having a light lunch

If you are in Sultanahmet please go there and have some of those koftas. The restaurant is literally on Sultanahmet square. We accidentally found Sultanahmet Koftecisi while on the way to McDonalds. :) Reasonably priced, Waiters attentive. The place is like United Nations, you may see different nationalities eating there. It is good.

The leek soup and meatballs were lovely, and pretty good value for the touristy area. Service was attentive without being over the top. I would definitely recommend.

We came here after visiting Agia Sofia because it was nearby and easy. We were whisked upstairs and served quickly by busy, impersonal servers. The menu is short and simple; the food is adequate, but pretty bland and nothing special. I wouldn't come back. The restaurant next door looked much better.

Just had lunch here. Lamb kebab and meatballs (particularly) really tasty. Had with simple salad, some lovely pilau rice and bottle of water. Full mainly with locals. Friendly staff. A simple tasty local lunch restaurant.

I visit this place after the Blue Mosque and get a their take away special of a sandwich and a drink and sit at the park opposite and some times share a bit of my tasty meal with the local cats. There are several such shops but I like this one the best...

So I was taken here once on my trip by a friend of mine who's father adviced us to go there, hence he had childhood memories from them being the busiest and best köftesci place in Istanbul, and me being from Kosovo we eat alot of köftesci, this without a doubt was on top of the chart for me. 5/5... Right across from the blue mosque and very close the train station. You can be in and out in about 45 minutes. Shawarma and kebab made fresh while you wait. One of the Best tasting kebab dishes I had in Sultanahmet area yet very affordable. We ate there 3 times for lunch during our 4 day stay.

We went here thinking it will be somewhat cheap but the menu is very basic with only a few dishes and they also charge service fee. When we finished eating the staff wanted us to leave very quickly. It wasn't the most welcoming restaurant and the service charge is not necessary

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
