We visited this restaurant twice as the food was good and the service equally so. I would recommend the mixed meze for two in particular. Several vegetarian choices are available and they serve Efes dark beer as well as the pilsner. My partner liked the chicken in cream with nuts so much he had it on both occasions.

My wife and I ate at a number of places in our 5+ days in Istanbul but this was definitely one of the favorites. We went for dinner and perhaps because since it was an early dinner, we were seated right away. Very friendly staff and helpful with deciding on what to select. A really nice kebab menu is the... My favourite restaurant in Istanbul. Service here is good and the food excellent. The shrimp casserole starter was superb, as always and Mahmudiye (chicken with rice, nuts apricots and honey) is a favourite that I have at least once on each visit to Istanbul.

We visited this restaurant in the old city on our first visit to Istanbul and then twice more when we returned 12 days later. The food was outstanding, the service very friendly but professional. Even the house wine was of good quality (and we are fussy). The Harem Lamb dish was a real treat but so were the other dishes... More

Fine turkish cuisine with en exelent service. We tried two kinds of chiken and the sauce was testy and original. Prices are around 35 tl for mains.

We ate fairly early, and it was Ramadan so the place was semi-deserted, but the service was excellent, the large-ish menu had all one's favorite foods and it's location in a small alley made it great for people watching.

We went to Amendros for lunch after finding it on Tripadvisor. We thought it looked a bit touristy, but TA is usually right. We tried the aubergine with cheese and walnuts, aubergine with chicken and the chef's special. We have all had a lot of turkish food, but these recipies were a bit different and really tasty! Professional and really... More

This was a pretty good tourist stop. Given the location, you don't really have much of a choice but to eat at a place like this. That being said, this was a good enough. The food is plated pretty and was not bad. The vegetables looked like they came from frozen mix, but the lamb was cooked well and falling... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
