Dinner on roof terrace. Staff brought you whole tray of fish and mezze to choose from which was fun. Food super tasty, fresh, hot and great portion. Had smoked mackerel, grilled octopus, grilled prawn, grilled sea bream on the bone. For 2 people, all for around £20! (not including drinks) Sea view is epic. very comfy setting. Staff is good... Asking for a recommendation from our hotel, they gave us just one and it was Mostra. We were not disappointed and visited it on three of our six nights in the city. It's in the old quarter and the surroundings range from comfortably-off to downright shabby and dilapidated but that is the attraction of so many cities the world over.... More

The food was good with prices slightly higher than average, but it was let down by the service. The engaging host outside the front door promised the earth and a good view from the roof deck. Service was initially attentive but stopped entirely after the main course was served. After we had eaten a young waiter came by and asked... More

We were only in Istanbul for three nights and this restaurant was recommended to us on the first night - it was fantastic and everything we were looking for - fabulous location under the stars on a rooftop terrace. The fish was so fresh - it was brought to us to choose and then cooked on the grill - absolutely... More

Rooftop terrace a good reward after 2 flights of stairs. Restaurant specializes in fish – sold by kg in portions for 2. Our sea bream was perfectly grilled – excellent grill marks, but the fish was not overcooked. Several options for fresh-caught and farmed fish are available. Service was attentive. Negatives – wine list limited to overpriced Turkish wines. On... More

Lovely staff. View of bosphorous currently spoiled by new tunnel works. Didnt detract from the meal though! Try the whole fish baked in salt and set on fire for a great culinary experience!

Mostra was recommended by our hotel and was in easy walking distance, so we tried it on our first night. We went to the rooftop which has a very nice view. The staff were friendly and hopeful, bringing round platters of fresh whole prawns, octopus and fish to choose from. We had 2 king prawns each, grilled, to start and... More

Yes, this restaurant is a little expensive, if you compare to most of restaurants we've had been in Istanbul. But if you like seafood - and seafood restaurants are usually pricey - I think it's a good place to go. We were in a party of six and everybody felt happy after dinner. Everything we tasted was nice and fresh... More
