good traditionnel food

excellent position, next to old town centre: friendly staff, excellent food, a little bit expensive (getting away from Hagia Sophia will save you some money for equal food quality)

We stopped in here for a beer and some chips. They have some Belgian beers which was a change from some of the other places which only have Turkish beer. Although we did not eat a meal the food looked good. Friendly service like you expect in Istanbul. Just down from the Starbucks and across the road from McDonalds five... More

Me and my girlfriend were tired and just looking for restaurant to sit and have meal and a beer. I was thinking it is just another pub when i went in, and expected to have ordinary european cuisine. I was delighted when I saw part of the menu with turkish meals. We waited for a little while because the restaurant... More

We were looking for a light lunch on our last day at Istanbul. This place is easy to locate, right on the main street ..It's got a great decor and very friendly staff..The prices are quite reasonable and the food is yum. We sat inside the restaurant but they do have a seating area outside as well. We enjoyed our... More

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here after it was recommended by friends. It was fabulous food, reasonably priced wine, great service. We ordered the lamb cooked in the clay pot and the theatre of them serving it to your table was really fun. Our only problem was being seated inbetween two other tables, one of which was smoking during... More

This restaurant was the worst one in our whole Turkey trip. Expensive: 3 people, simple meal, 110 TL (normally 50-60 TL) Disgusting: we ordered Chicken sis, pasta, and chicken curry. 2 of them are not fresh, chicken was smelly. pasta was with strange smell. all food waste. Torrible Service: we complained food not fresh, and the stuff just ignored us.... More

came in on rainy day for drink & to see if they had any English football showing. They quickly changed the TV on to English football. We watched the game & decided to stay on for some dinner. Food very good, generous portions and nicely presented. We ate here a couple of times over the next few days and enjoyed... More

Went here for lunch on a beautiful, sunny day. Sat outside to enjoy our lunch. Food was wonderful. Service was good. The big Turkish bread is always fun and delicious to eat.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
