A friend who we joined in Istanbul said this was the best restaurant in Sultanamet. When we had finished he said he was revising his opinion. It was ok but we have since had better value meals and better views.

Every evening the smartly dressed tout with sleek black ponytail invited us in and we refused. On our last evening we succumbed, and the famous lamb dish he prommised was, as promised, delicious. That was last year, on this trip we made Rumeli our first meal as we could not wait to sample the delicious lamb again. Succulent flavorful, melt... More

We arrived late at night after walking around the area. We were staying near Taksim Square because we didn't want to be in the middle of the main tourist areas like where this restaurant was. We ordered a beef in tagine and beef in a pastry parcel. The pastry dish was not cooked to order and it was not hot... More

Rumeli and Mosiac are next door to each other and customers can choose from both menus. We took advantage of this and both the starter and mains were disappointing. My meal more resembled baby food in consistency, sloppy yogurt with tomato sauce, once I found the meat it was entirely tasteless. Both these restaurants are overpriced for the quality of... More

I came to this restaurant having found it in one of the guide books and gave it a try, It was excellent and specializes in a varied cuisine from different parts of Turkey. My only regret about the place is that it lost a great and personable waiter who made my dining experiences wonderful. If you came twice or three... More

Stopped here after visiting the Hagia Sophia and the restaurant was recommended by our tour guide. It was a very good recommendation. Very friendly service and great choice of food. The food was of very high quality, well presented and good value for money. This is definitely not a tourist trap and is well worth a visit.

I just had one of the best mixed grills. I was undecided what to have so I took the waiters suggestion. Excellent choice. Not only was the food very good but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a great atmosphere in a busy street. Well done guys.
