Loved the atmosphere and ambience

We were a group of 5 for dinner at Tintagel. First off, this place is gorgeous, and the interiors impressive. We spent a good while just looking around this historic grand old house and examining the pieces of art. We were dining al fresco which was lovely as it was a rather mild evening. They... read more

This apparently is the family home / erstwhile private residence of the former first family of Sri Lanka whose many distinctions....include.... S.W.R.D.Bandaranaike (Prime Minister) Sirimavo Bandaranaike (World's first lady head of state) Chandrika Bandaranaike (Only elected head of state whose both parents were heads of state). The house has been tastefully refurbished & suitably modernised by the Paradise Road chain,... More

Owned by the same franchise as the Gallery Café, this is definitely the better option (unless you are a large group). I suspect it is the smaller size of the restaurant that allows more attention to the quality of the food, as opposed to Gallery where they are cranking out lots of meals all night long. Whatever it is, check... More

A lovely place where everything from food to service and to atmosphere is fantastic. The menu is quite extensive with a range of seafood and meat dishes and a few tempting vegetarian options. The lobster and shrimp bisque was absolutely amazing for starters as well as smoked salmon with fresh greens topped with feta cheese. My parmesan gnocchi lived up... More

Excellent cuisine (mainly continental), great service, and a beautifully decorated dining space. We had two starters - lobster bisque and chicken liver pate both of which were great. One of us had the seafood fettucine which was also delicious with a surprising amount of seafood in it. The large prawn dish was good but not as exceptional.

Impeccable service, beautifully created dishes (to look at and to taste) and a pretty setting makes Tintagel a favourite of mine. The only annoying thing that I have found with this place is the huge mosquitoes in the courtyard and sitting too close to the music speaker (you can't hear yourself think).

We ate lunch here and had superb food. Unfortunately they don't have a liquor licence yet, but the frozen virgin margarita was as good as one with alcohol. Really cool hotel. Definitely not a backpacker haunt.

Eating at this restaurant is a very pleasant experience. The colonial building and the understated elegance of its decor and atmosphere are very relaxing and make you feel special. We sat on the small terrace which is very private and attractive. The staff were attentive and helpful and the menu sophisticated. We were all very happy with our food and had a... More

Very pleased with lunch at Tintagel. I had the Fois gras with Bacon and Lettuce to start (on the special menu) and for main course I had the Lobster, Shrimp and Crab Fettuccine. Fabulous and will definitely visit again!
