Great spot for lunch on a break from shopping/touring

Stopped here for a late and leisurely lunch to take a break on my first day in Colombo. It is an elegant, upscale, well-designed space with delicious food and attentive service.

The dinner we had there on our first day in Sri Lanka was arguably the best meal we had in Colombo. The terrace is beautiful, particularly with the changing light and colours around sunset, as a waiter had told me in the afternoon. For travellers who are struggling with a jet lag shortly after arriving it's good to know that,... More

We go there for dinners only and never stayed (so this review is about food only!). It is small but cosy and we always dine outside - very nice space. Menu is limited but well covered. Recommend it if you like private and fine'sh dining :-)

We stayed at the hotel when we first got to Sri Lanka. Since we were tired we opted to eat dinner here thinking it would be just average. However, it was perfect. We started with the crab soup and the lobster soup and both were very nice and flavorful. My 5yr old daughter loved the lobster soup and finished my... More

We were a group of 5 for dinner at Tintagel. First off, this place is gorgeous, and the interiors impressive. We spent a good while just looking around this historic grand old house and examining the pieces of art. We were dining al fresco which was lovely as it was a rather mild evening. They do not serve alcohol but... More

This apparently is the family home / erstwhile private residence of the former first family of Sri Lanka whose many distinctions....include.... S.W.R.D.Bandaranaike (Prime Minister) Sirimavo Bandaranaike (World's first lady head of state) Chandrika Bandaranaike (Only elected head of state whose both parents were heads of state). The house has been tastefully refurbished & suitably modernised by the Paradise Road chain,... More

Owned by the same franchise as the Gallery Café, this is definitely the better option (unless you are a large group). I suspect it is the smaller size of the restaurant that allows more attention to the quality of the food, as opposed to Gallery where they are cranking out lots of meals all night long. Whatever it is, check... More

A lovely place where everything from food to service and to atmosphere is fantastic. The menu is quite extensive with a range of seafood and meat dishes and a few tempting vegetarian options. The lobster and shrimp bisque was absolutely amazing for starters as well as smoked salmon with fresh greens topped with feta cheese. My parmesan gnocchi lived up... More

Excellent cuisine (mainly continental), great service, and a beautifully decorated dining space. We had two starters - lobster bisque and chicken liver pate both of which were great. One of us had the seafood fettucine which was also delicious with a surprising amount of seafood in it. The large prawn dish was good but not as exceptional.
