Description: Hazara": our name is derived from the people of Hazara tribe, settled in Northern Mountains of Afganistan. Hazara's are related to Mongolia as they came as part of Chinggis Khan's army in 13th century. They are proud, Independent and good natured people. Our Food; North Indian Frontier Cuisine is based on healthy traditional method of cooking. There is gentle use of spices and more emphasis on flavours and herbs. Tandoor (Clay oven) is used to grill the meat to give its chary taste. There is abundant use of dry fruits and cream to give very creamy and smooth taste. Our Architect: We have created the ambience of Havelis of Rajasthan. Antique doors and zarokas and colourful tents create warmth and romantic ambience.

I am not a fan of Indian food but after eating at Hazara I am a believer! The Naan baskets were fantastic, the buttered chicken = unbelievably delicious. And the staff is so helpful and kind! They played Jai Ho, per request! HOLLA! They also donate their profits to help educate women. I would recommend it to anyone. GO HAZARA!!

The food here was delicious, and in a lovely setting. I've had great authentic Indian food in many parts of the world and this place ranks among the better Indian restaurants in which I've eaten.

I have eaten at this restaurant on both trips to Ulaanbaatar this year. The food is always excellent, authentic to Northern India, and they have a wonderful mixed Naan basket. A few of the service staff speaks English, and they were very accomodating, especially as we had young children with us on last visit. Food and drink costs are very... More

Hazara provides good Indian food. Large portions. OK service. And perhaps it is one of the best places to eat in UB - I was only their a week and it was one of the better meals. But some of these reviews are over the top - people stating that they would travel to the city just to eat here... More

After 28 days on the road doing the Mongol Rally, this was our finishing night treat, along with some of the other teams. It was fantastic. Beautifully cooked food, the best naan bread I have ever eaten, great service and unbeatable value. If you go to UB you've got to eat in Hazara. We got speaking to the owners, and... More

Back in UB -- and first stop for food: Hazara! I ordered the 4 naan basket -- and again it was fabulous. Can't wait to return. And as an American who MUST have ice in her beverage, they brought it to me.....and refilled the bucket numerous times. Their potato "salad' was beautiful. Lovely restaurant and service.

I wish I knew about this place before the last night in Mongolia. The ambiance was lovely, the place totally clean. The food was delicious with the right amount of heat and spice. We started out with samosas, with the usual coriander chutney sauce. Excellent samosas, not greasy at all. Next came chicken tikki masala, tandoori chicken and my favorite... More

Two of us had been this awesome Indian restaurant in Ulaanbaatar! I had lunch 5 times in this restaurant. Believe me taste was fantastic. Even travelling in INdia Ive never eaten like this food and feel this taste. My husband loved Chicken biryani, butter chicken, spinach with hot basket naans.

Horrible food, just had it 2 nights ago (August 2014). Cheese pakora - dry, not very warm, hardly any cheese inside limp fried outside. Lamb rogan josh - not even the proper preparation of the dish; really just lamb in a red curry. Not good at all (and my colleague from Mumbai said it was the worst she ever had)... More
