For reasons unknown to I, all the wine is half off. Great news for Joey as his precious tummy can't handle beer. A bottle of white, some traditional stir fry and a platter of dumplings meant we were having a good time. Food is reasonably priced - I am sure down a darkened ally, under the guise of a Karaoke... We visited Modern Nomads' with a group of 10 for lunch and week later for dinner. Good food both times - huge steak for lunch and excellently cooked tender beef for dinner. At dinner we noticed the wines were cheap. We had a bottle of sapperavi from Georgia and a bottle of Barolo.

I came here with a tour group. The food was average. Nothing spectacular, but it was a good variety of mongilian food.

I was with a tour so did not get to pick off the menu; they ordered for me. The food was exactly like what I'd been eating for three weeks and though it was OK, I was far from impressed.

Whilst I'm not in favour of eating out to the sound of loud live music, the traditional music and throat singing was the highlight of the evening. The food was distinctly average, although my Thai-style chicken was very tasty (albeit rather dry). The mango smoothie was excellent. Avoid the steaks - tough and over-done.

Our agency Amicus Travel Mongolia booked a table for us and we were lucky that we have a foodie expert on our table to order the dishes for us. We served: Mongolian national food "Khorkhog" - it was great taste, noodle soup, mixed vegetables with some local berry, vegetarian green curry and home made biscuit. What a pleasant and delightful... More

Truly ethnic Mongolian restaurant. In fact, we were the only diners who were not Mongolian. This is a good place for trying local dishes. The waitstaff was professional and the restaurant nicely decorated.

If you want to experience Chingiss Kahn's gastonomic revenge eat here. Modern Nomads food is bad traditional Mongolian with loads of grease and few vegetables.

Modern Nomads definitely caters to the tourist crowd, with high prices, tacky decor, and lots of advertisements in the city's hotels and tourist information centres. The food was traditional Mongolian fare. As-advertised, I suppose, but nothing to write home about. There are similar places, often better places, scattered throughout the city. Service was extremely slow -- the restaurant was nowhere... More

The one great thing about the Nomads chain is that they're everywhere! However, the food is so-so and not great value. There are better little gems selling delicious Mongolian food across UB, however, you will get away with not knowing a lick of Mongolian here - not so the case in other places where you may have to order your...
