Strangely, this restaurant is part of an American chain but it got good reviews so we decided to eat there one evening. The food was pretty good - an all you can eat buffet where you choose your ingredients then pass them to a chef who cooks them up on a large griddle. The clientele were mainly tourists and business... More

The food was good and so was the beer. Nice, inexpensive place to eat and hang out. I would recommend eating there when you visit Mongolia.

We didn't have the stir fry buffet as we weren't hungry enough but watching them cook the food was lovely. It looked delicious and you can have as much and any types of meats, vegetables and seasoning as you want. We ate off the individual dish menu. The portions were large and very tasty, especially the sweet and sour chicken.... More

Mongolian Barbeque is not quite a barbeque. It is actually cooking on a large metal plate. The service staff are polite, very efficient, and geared towards tourists. It's a buffet of ingredients which you'd pick, including the sauces you'd like to add, and present to the open kitchen cooks who then do their magic. So you'd need to more or... More

After traveling for 16 days with my teenage daughter through Hong Kong, Shanghai, the hutongs of Beijing and Trans-Siberian railway, we arrived in UB and went off via motorcycle to stay with a family of nomads who served us traditional Mongolian milk tea and fresh cream. We were relatively careful what we ate but never got a bad stomach once.... More

Visited with group of friends and were offered a range of ingredients from which to choose and personalise a meal, or two, or three, you get the idea. Separate buffet is also available under similar conditions. Very limited desert offering but staff conjured a cake from somewhere to help celebrate a birthday, even without advance warning. Staff were helpful and... More

BUT it is the experience... AND if you are a BIG eater you can do well with an all-you-can-eat deal... Reall pleasant view on a covered porch overlooking Seoul Street... Very good German beer... In case you don't know Mongolian BQ was started by a Taiwanese businessman and the one in Ulanbaatar is American owned... Would go ONLY if planning... More

Thought I was being taken to an "authentic" Mongolian Barbique, turns out its an American franchise. Its a strange world isn't it. If I go to an exotic place I dont want McDlds, still food was OK , lacking in atmosphere. I suppose its there for the ex pat community who dont want a disney version of life.
