Visited with group of friends and were offered a range of ingredients from which to choose and personalise a meal, or two, or three, you get the idea. Separate buffet is also available under similar conditions. Very limited desert offering but staff conjured a cake from somewhere to help celebrate a birthday, even without advance warning. Staff were helpful and... More

BUT it is the experience... AND if you are a BIG eater you can do well with an all-you-can-eat deal... Reall pleasant view on a covered porch overlooking Seoul Street... Very good German beer... In case you don't know Mongolian BQ was started by a Taiwanese businessman and the one in Ulanbaatar is American owned... Would go ONLY if planning... More

Thought I was being taken to an "authentic" Mongolian Barbique, turns out its an American franchise. Its a strange world isn't it. If I go to an exotic place I dont want McDlds, still food was OK , lacking in atmosphere. I suppose its there for the ex pat community who dont want a disney version of life.

There is only one food recipe in Mongolia, namely "catch animal, kill, boil, and eat". A traditional Mongolian barbecue consists of placing meat, usually mutton, in a steel milk urn with hot rocks, and leaving the lid on until the meat is cooked. So while the BD's might be a fun treat for tourists, it is in no way authentic.... More

I have visited there several times. Yes, meat is often frozen, but by the time they have finished cooking it, it is well cooked. I usually put meat on first pack it down, then veggies, put a little sauce on it. The cooks complain a little, as it makes the grill sticky, but I still do it. Best sauce I... More

It was more expensive than Altai BBQ and not as great. The cook did not allow me to cook the BBQ with the sauce, he said I needed to put it on afterwards. Will not return.

Food was excellent but make sure you know what you are eating! Had some vital salad and found out later it was made out of, you guessed it, vital organs.

Great atmosphere & great format - select your own raw food & sauce & it gets cooked for you on a huge griddle by a couple of guys who whip it around et voila! My only gripe is that we were there on a busy night during July (a coach load of tourists arrived after us) & the meat &... More
