We had "gambas a la plancha" (very good) and grilled chicken (excellent). The high point of the evening, however, has definitely been the dessert: an absolutely fantastic Crème brûlée. This is certainly one of the best tables in Vientiane and thus not unexpensive (and thus also a rallying point for the foreigners in town).

A couple of weeks ago I enjoyed mybsecond meal to Pimenton. The hostess was as charming as ever, the steak done to perfection, they use the freshest produce, have an excellent wine list and make great cocktails. Top marks for Pimenton

A relatively new contender of "The Top Spot" in Vientianes fast expanding fine dining scene, Spanish Cuisine, Pimenton I ordered the lunch set menu, starting with a small, serously fresh sallad with sprouts, leaves and julienned carots, paired with baguette (from Le Batton, by the looks) and abolutely fantastic garlic butter. Grilled, to perfection, filet of fish (Tilapia) on a... More

If you are willing to pay for good beef in Vientiane that you can safely eat rare, want western/European ambiance, good wine choices, and an all around European style fine dining experience this is where most expats go if they are not in one of the similarly priced French spots. The owners are great people, the service is usually quite... More

We have been here a couple times already and have gone back because of 1) good food, 2) good drinks, and 3) the service. The food has always been prepared and presented well. While some of the dishes are a bit lean and you won't fill up, you don't go here for a one dish sitting. Mind you, you could... More

With delicious Tapas for starters, a huge chunk of very good quality meat for main, and a couple of expresso cocktails to wash it down, all in a funky yet unpretentious environment, dining at Pimenton is an evening well spent.

Always impeccable food. Always impeccable service. Best quality/value combination in town. I definitely think that the tapas are the best- we hardly ever even make it to a main course.

My partner and I stumbled on Pimenton by chance and, boy, are we glad we did. We enjoyed the best meal of our recent jaunt through Laos and Vietnam. Everything worked. The staff, although young and sometimes limited in English, were enthusiastic and delightful, and the layout and decor, while appearing austere from the outside, is very warm and well-designed....
