a little hard to find, but worth it

this place is as close to real Tex-mex food as you going to find in Lao. Staff is great. restaurant is clean and well organized. Food is close to authentic, but it is more like they are following a cook book than actually working from a real experience with tex-mex.

It was my first time tasting Mexican food that had the right ingredients and taste. Food presentation, ambience and presence of staff was great.

When your tummy tells your mind: "Please give no more thai and lao food!" - This is the place to go! As a longtime customer of Ban Gai, here are my favourite dishes: Enchilada, Quesadilla, sizzling Fajitas and of course the famous UFO! You can also call for takeaway. See you soon ;)

A good expat hang out with cold beer and good Mexican food. I often eat here at lunch with friends, or in the evening with my kids. Either way, the food is always good and you never leave hungry.

Have tried several of the Tex-Mex dishes. The sauces (taco, burrito, enchilada) aren't correct and most of the key ingredients (sour cream, cheese, salsa, pico de gallo) are missing. As a result, the food is not very spicy. On the plus side, the place is quiet (no TV or music) and the service is fairly good.

Being raised on Mexican food in the US, I've become less than optimistic about it in SE Asia. I've found one good restaurant in Bangkok and now one in Vientiane. My test food is cheese enchiladas, as mundane as that sounds. These were different. Rather that a harder cheese like cheddar or monterrey jack, these used something like a chile... More

The stuffed burgers here are so delicious, they do several options of fillings cooked inside the beef burger. It's very original for Vientiane and trust me, you will be back for more. The staff are so friendly and efficient. They also serve Lao dishes and Mexican food which are great. I find it strange that the previous reviewer rated this... More

I love this style of food...and when it's executed like this it is soooo good! Not only was the food great, it was also generous servings, fast and great value for money. The service was very friendly and welcoming as only the Laos people can do so genuinely. Looking forward to returning to Laos and of course to my favourite... More

Some other places around town try to do a few Mexican dishes but this place has the biggest range and best tasting dishes by far. The service and quality of the food are consistently good. I would highly recommend.
