Ban Gai has earned itself an undyingly loyal following among the expats of Vientiane. The food is amazing - try the giant stuffed burrito if you're hungry. Vegetarians are VERY well catered for here. All of the dishes can be ordered Vegetarian, with a choice between black, refried and red beans. I've never succeeded in ordering something that wasn't fantastic.... More

Ban Gai has an awesome menu, but the UFO is my favourite. It's like a chimichanga wrapped in a tortilla and fried. Heavenly. They are also the only place I know that serves tamales in Vientiane...I was in tears when I ate them...tears of joy. The best part is that the staff are super friendly and helpful, making every visit... More

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great staff, always smiling and friendly. The burgers are perfect. Tex-Mex excellent... Try a blueberry-strawberry smoothie !

This restaurant serves up Loa food, hamburgers and Tex Mex, all of which I have tried. I love eating here for the Mexican food in particular, they have a large variety on the menu and it is the closest you will get to Tex Mex in the states. The staff are very friendly and the service is great. Although not... More

After spending some time reading reviews and checking about this restaurant on there Facebook page where it clearly states the restaurant offers a delivery service I was shocked to be told that my two main courses orders could not be delivered to my hotel which is only located 2 kilometres away. I was then informed that for a small order... More

Living in Vientiane, I used to only eat Mexican food once a year - when I traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand for an annual work conference. But now with Ban Gai, I can have it whenever I want! You can't order wrong at Ban Gai - everything is delicious. The giant stuffed burrito is probably the best deal for portion/price... More

We came here after some people we met in Puang Prabang told us about their time here during the New Year. It did not disappoint. My better half ate the chicken fajitas, perfect marinate and oh so good with a cold margarita. Speaking of, these things are strong. I deided to face temptaion and eat their thing called UFO, a... We have been to Ban Gai on several occasions and almost always order the giant burrito when we go. If you are really hungry, get the burrito! It is tasty, super filling and is a good value. The staff at the restaurant are really friendly and attentive. We live close to the restaurant so no problem getting to it but... More

I love Mexican food, and a burrito with guacamole is one of the "home foods" I miss most after four months on the road. This exceeded my expectations! For one, the staff were adorable - so warm and friendly, with great English. They even ran next door and bought us two little water guns to join in because we were... More
