Great Bhaigan Bharta

I love Indian veggie food and alternated my custom between here and Dhaka while I was in Vientiane. Overall, I thought the experience at Dhaka was better mostly because the service was friendlier there than at Taj Mahal. That said, the Bhaigan Bharta at Taj Mahal was extremely tasty and I would go... read more

Its not a fine dining place. A typical Desi restaurant - serving you fresh Indian food. At time, made to order. The owner has been in Laos for long and can give you lot of insights.

A wide range of Indian food. Went in a group so shared the food. Good fried rice and naan to accompany the meal. Not overly spicy. Staff a little slow but may have been at end of a busy day.

Taj Mahal cooks delicious curries and breads, it is not attempting to lure tourists, nor provide exceptional service. Think cafe over restaurant. Walk in, grab a table. Full menu translated to English, brought over. $3 for most main dishes $1 for nann bread and rice about the same. Big mango shake is 20LAK Open front and overhead Clean throughout Cheese... More

Wish they would say when lamb is on the bone, spent most of the meal picking pieces of bone out of my mouth. Curry was average and a little overpriced, 200,000 kip for 2

I really like the samosas that are served. The flat bread verity is good. Some times the dishes are greasy. I always eat Vegetarian here. My husband says the meat is often dry. I like it because it's not spicy. The staff is good.

This little shop behind the national culture hall has a good mix of veggie and meat dishes, cheap, no frills, no nonsense, decent sized portions. Efficient

I've been returning here for nearly 10 years now. There are other good Indian restaurants in town, but for consistency and value for money, the Taj wins it for me. It's not fancy, in fact it's as basic as you can get, but that lends itself to a relaxed eating experience. The prices are so cheap you can order way... More
