I have been here over the past few years, when I first went it was good food, reasonable prices, but the building seems to be dropping to bits, the food becoming just OK, and if you want wine, its red or white, there are so many more good French restaurants in Vientiane.

This is quite a nice French restaurant with a varied menu. We ate a variety of dishes among our party, including starters and dessert, all of which were quite nice. The location is handy for hotels and just a block or so away from the riverfront, and you can site outside or in. The main problem that we experienced was... More

I had never been to this place before but the chef just quit and walked out at the place we wanted to eat at so we tried La Vendome. They have very reasonably priced French food. A huge salad we couldn't finish, beef tartare, and several soufles - see the photos. The seating, inside and out, is very pleasant and... More

We had one of the best lunches ever at Le Vendome. The luncheon special was superb - pork cooked to perfection with a lovely sauce and pasta that was perfect also. My hubby had fish that had a wonderful, light, lemony sauce and the hands down best mashed potatoes since my Sister-in-law's. This adorable little place is off the main... More

An excellent deal for those who are looking for cheap and simple French cooking at lunch! But the staff is not very welcoming, and the food miss some delicateness. Overall, a cheap option for the lunch (choose a table on the terrace, coz the atmosphere inside is...weird)

Good French food in a pleasant atmosphere. The desert souffle alone is was worth a visit. Not cheap but reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

Food was ok, but nothing special. Service was slow. However, the restaurant was open late at night when most other places were closed, so it's a convenient stop for a late dinner

I don't like French food or the fuss French make about their food and prefer Lao food but this place has good pastea and great ambiance on a small street so worth a visit even for a coffee

On my first night in town this place was recommended to me by a local expat. Tired from flying and it being right around the block from my hotel it was a no brainer. I almost walked by it, since at night it is on a quieter block. It's menu is basically everything you could want. Maybe jet lagged, I... More
