Excellent

Incredibly tasty food and so cheap! We had 2 beers, 2 mains (including the roast beef) and dessert for under US $20. The piano playing was lovely and the service fast, efficient and friendly. The chocolate tart was standout.

Excellent Lao and French food at a reasonable price, very good service and ambiance. Nice terrace and upstairs seating. The owner playing the piano is a fantastic touch. I've been going here a lot recently, I really have no complaints whatsoever.

Run / owned by a Frenchman - this restaurant has an excellent selection of foods. And of good wines - if you can afford them :-) The upstairs balcony is a nice place to sit in the evenings - watching the happenings on the small road below.

The restaurant has a typical menu of Laos/Thai/SE Asian staples. I ordered the chicken Laap and morning glory (like spinach that grows in the river) as a side dish. If you haven't ever had morning glory, try some! Both the Laap and the morning glory were slightly over-seasoned. But, they have a very nice California red wine on the menu.... More

Owned by a Frenchman who is generally found tinkling on the piano, it would be almost impossible not to find something you will enjoy whether you want local food, a quick dose of pasta or some traditional French dishes plus a good range of daily specials. Neatly located between the two main drags in Vientiane this is a characterful place... More

We stumbled on this restaurant last night and had such a good evening. We were lucky to have a table on their upstirs terrace which was really lovely though the ambiance was great throughout the place. We chose a variety of dishes...Lao and Western and everything was beautifully prepared and was accompanied by a good Cote du Rhone wine. The... More

After not being able to get spring rolls in a neighbouring restaurant we entered Douang Deuane for lunch. We were met by the French owner who was welcoming and we sat and contemplated the menu. In addition there were several blackboards with specials. In the end we went with specials; Margret de canard and with red wine sauce and Les... More

As promised, this place was great value. Simple, well priced, decent food, friendly service. It's one of those restaurants (common in this part of the world) where the menu is 10 pages long and covers such a variety that you have no clue what the restaurant's actual specialty was. With so many options to cover, someone is bound to be... More
