We stayed at the Grand Park Esil hotel and this is only 5 minutes walk away. The food is good, the beer is good, the prices are excellent but it's not really got any atmosphere. There is, however, a bear just inside the door so if you're not sure if you've got the right place then look for the bear!

Russian/Kazakh staples with no pretence of fine dining. The value is excellent and it has very good draft beer at very low prices.

This place is a good find. The menu is mostly Russian dishes and while there is nothing overwhelmingly remarkable about Samovar, but the food is cheap and can be quite good. The blinis were quite nice.

Meal was good value; only certain dishes were available but what came was very good. Service was old style, rather giving the feeling that you were in the way. But this is a good choice if you want to get away from the more sterile feel of the big restaurants in the new part of the city.

I have eaten at Samovar three times, twice with larger groups of people, and once with only three of us. The first time was the best, with generous portions of very good food. The second time was mediocre at best. The last time, with the same order as the first time, and I left hungrey thinking I would not want... More

Large Russian cuisine menu, and even one in English. Funny thing though is that it doesn't relate directly to the Russian menu so you still struggle to get your selections across to the staff. Otherwise, nice atmosphere and good food. Very reasonable prices by Western standards.($100 for 5 people: 2 1/2 courses)

Ok crepe menu but no salmon crepes the night I was there. Good fish soup. Pleasant staff. Good conversation place. Would return. Extensive menu. English menu.
