Excellent service and steak

I took visitors from overseas here as they have excellent steak and the service is a standout. We had a perfectly cooked eye fillet and the wine we let a very attentive waiter choose for us. The atmosphere at Armands does transport you out of Phnom Penh which you need to do every now and then. I... read more

Ever since we met Armand himself, we have been getting his personal attention meaning he personally flambait our steaks to perfection..excellent selection of wine...wonderful appetizers at his recommendation to start things off ...but always, always go for the steak...call for reservation after 8pm..the place is small yet cozy and gets crowded easily..and people don't seem to want to leave...only thing... Australian imported eye fillet or lamb cutlets, cooked to exactly your preference, with refried potatoes and peas? The hollandaise was split, but I didn't care. Loved it, the whole deal. The soft lighting, the subdued Ella Fitzgerald music, the professional service from ever smiling and obliging staff.

What a great pleasant surprise to find such a charming and stylish French bistro in Phnom Penh. Ordered the tenderloin, finished table side by Armand himself, who was a great host and made us feel very welcome. My wife's dietary preferences were easily accommodated. The food compared very favorably with great steak in New York City or other international capitals.... More

I've reviewed Armand's before, but it needs stressing that the quality never changes. Although Armand himself wasn't present yesterday evening when we went, his protegee can also cook steaks to perfection. My wife and I both ordered the tenderloin steak, but one rare and one medium-rare, and they came out exactly right. This happens every time we go; always excellent.

The inviting interior at Armand’s is reminiscent of a Paris bistro or a casually upscale restaurant on New York’s east side. You want the food to be good; you really do. Alas, it is not to be. The menu emphasizes steak and other meats so on a recent visit I ordered up tenderloin for my first meal (although I am... More

At the recommendation of a couple of ex-pats, five of us went to Armand and all ordered steaks of different varieties ... and there were no complaints from any of us. This, coupled with good service, nice wine and a complimentary digestif, made for a great night out. Although not great value in Phnom Penh terms, when compared to what... More

We paid about 40$ for 2 persons (including one bottle of wine) for what I would call a disappointing experience. I admit that expectations matter. I had been told that this place was great by local expats but beside the decor which I found fine I found the whole experience ok but not up to my expectations. The salad I... More

I am amazed by the positive reviews of this place... Great atmosphere and the service was excellent. Unfortunately the food does not match the setting, and the prices are far too high for the quality of the steaks on offer. Much better steaks to be had elsewhere in Phnom Penh.

This place has to be one of the best French places in South East Asia. The owner, Armand is French Khmer ( i think) and has great success in Australia. Great ambience , good collection of wine and brandy . If you get to meet Armand, that's an experience by itself...Do not leave Phnom Penh without paying Armand a visit... More
