I've reviewed Armand's before, but it needs stressing that the quality never changes. Although Armand himself wasn't present yesterday evening when we went, his protegee can also cook steaks to perfection. My wife and I both ordered the tenderloin steak, but one rare and one medium-rare, and they came out exactly right. This happens every time we go; always excellent.

The inviting interior at Armand’s is reminiscent of a Paris bistro or a casually upscale restaurant on New York’s east side. You want the food to be good; you really do. Alas, it is not to be. The menu emphasizes steak and other meats so on a recent visit I ordered up tenderloin for my first meal (although I am... More

At the recommendation of a couple of ex-pats, five of us went to Armand and all ordered steaks of different varieties ... and there were no complaints from any of us. This, coupled with good service, nice wine and a complimentary digestif, made for a great night out. Although not great value in Phnom Penh terms, when compared to what... More

We paid about 40$ for 2 persons (including one bottle of wine) for what I would call a disappointing experience. I admit that expectations matter. I had been told that this place was great by local expats but beside the decor which I found fine I found the whole experience ok but not up to my expectations. The salad I... More

I am amazed by the positive reviews of this place... Great atmosphere and the service was excellent. Unfortunately the food does not match the setting, and the prices are far too high for the quality of the steaks on offer. Much better steaks to be had elsewhere in Phnom Penh.

This place has to be one of the best French places in South East Asia. The owner, Armand is French Khmer ( i think) and has great success in Australia. Great ambience , good collection of wine and brandy . If you get to meet Armand, that's an experience by itself...Do not leave Phnom Penh without paying Armand a visit... More

Recommended by Carla - the General Manager of la Residence Hotel. Only open for 2 weeks at the time of our visit this offshoot from the famous Armand's in Phnom Phen is going to do well. Decor is understated and elegant and we were greeted by Stewart Kidd - the delightful Scot who is the local partner and also the... More

A definite must visit in Phnom Penh. Not because it offers the nice bistro decor. Not because of the great food you can try there. Not because of the great selection of wines and cocktails. But mostly for the most fun and interesting owner. Armand (the Canadian owner) is most fun and loving restaurant owner I met in that part... More

The most amazing bistrot is Phnom Penh. The owner was extremely friendly and very good in suggesting dishes. Will definitely miss this place.
