Malis is a landmark restaurant that has long enjoyed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of fusion food with traditional, original and new age Cambodian cuisine. With capacious seating and four VIP rooms set in a courtyard around a fountain, it is undeniably the capital's premier gourmet dining experience. Its busy kitchen is home to Luu Meng, Cambodia's only masterchef, whose artfully prepared dishes have graced tables around the world.

Amazing food

Fabulous food. The only quibble is that they've stripped it of hot pepper to please western palates. But they'll add it back in on request.

Malis is seriously good. The food was absolutely perfect, we had a sampling set menu so we got to try about 5 or 6 of the signature dishes and they were all winners. The flavours were amazing, and my wife (who is khmer) was able to confirm that they were all very true to the traditional Cambodian style but done... More

Without doubt this is a fine dining restaurant. It is beautifully presented and has a wonderful ambience. Service is very friendly and attentive without being overpowering. The menu is varied and some of the prices are very high. Nevertheless, my wife and I chose authentic Khmer dishes and two starters, two main courses, one desert, two coffees, two large beers... Located off the main road this restaurant where you can sit in the garden surrounded by ponds, fountains and candles, or inside with air conditioning, is a delight. The staff were very attentive and friendly although the meal was a bit rushed and the taster Cambodian 6 course menu brilliant. Good list of wines and not too expensive.

I ate here twice during my week long stay as it gets rave reviews and my friends wanted to keep going! As a vegetarian there are limited options, but everything they have available is delicious. My friends had the chef recommended options (including the Goby fish) and loved every single option. The inside decor is a bit sterile, and outside... More

We booked online before we travelled, good job as full, table was outdoors but still covered, very nice setting, then it comes to the food and it's all down to the choice from the menu, friend that I was with gave it 5 stars, unfortunately my choice was bland and dry, therefore 3 stars, very pricey though.

We were advised to go to Malis by a group of expats. To begin with we weren't sure what to expect but on entering we were transported into a peaceful tranquil area on the doorstep of Norodom's crazy traffic jam. It seems most tuktuk drives know where it is and we were taken there without a worry. The decoration is... More

This is an oasis in the hustle and bustle that is Phnom Penh. It's quite difficult to find and it's easier to get your hotel to explain to the tuktuk. We had no problem once we did this but I can imagine otherwise we'd have had a hard time getting there... The setting is lovely and romantic, the service impeccable... More

Great food, great service, what's not to love?! The price is on the higher end but it is definitely worth it! The food is terrific and I am very fussy when it comes to Asian food, would have to be one of the best beef curries I've tasted.

The moment you walk in the door we can tell this place is special. The food is both creative and traditional with many of the rich flavor a of Chinese cooking coupled with the traditional fair of Cambodian cuisine. We had a great evening. The start was a bit slow as personnel was a bit vague and left us waiting... More
