Malis is a landmark restaurant that has long enjoyed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of fusion food with traditional, original and new age Cambodian cuisine. With capacious seating and four VIP rooms set in a courtyard around a fountain, it is undeniably the capital's premier gourmet dining experience. Its busy kitchen is home to Luu Meng, Cambodia's only masterchef, whose artfully prepared dishes have graced tables around the world.

a nice thai and khmer restaurant in town

Malis is a very nice Thai and khmer restaurant in Phnom Penh. I would suggest you to reserve seat in advance as it might be sometimes full. Food is very creative. I would suggest signature mousse for the dessert lover.

Good service, lovely setting (outdoor courtyard), great food. I came with my group of friends from Sydney and we shared a lot of dishes. Slightly slow service perhaps due to full house during dinner. Nice ambience though. You can eat inside or outside in the courtyard.

An upmarket place with a beautiful garden serving local- and Asian-inspired food. Food is quite good. Some of the dishes are re-imaginations of Khmer cuisine while others are decidedly street food. One wonders if this kind of food needs such a posh surrounding with the high price tag. Is it in response to some gullible Westerners who think they need... More

Malis is definitely a place to go for a special Cambodian food experience. We thought that perhaps it was a little overpriced for what it was exactly, but we did have a lovely meal.

Don't miss it, excellent food, great service, loads of charm, and unusual but well balanced flavours. We ordered so much we could barely move, lol. The ambience of the restaurant was so romantic and it probably helped that we were the last clients so it gave the place a more intimate isolated feel to it.

This restaurant is superb. The menu has varied Cambodian food. Lots of fresh herbs and flavours, crafted authentic dishes made with passion. The staff are extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Such a beautiful garden setting with unique ambience. Food was delicious and they even offer a lovely birthday cake without telling us. Thank you so much! Would recommend and certainly return.

We gave this restaurant a good rating not because the food is amazing but because of the experience and atmosphere. This restaurant is jam packed with locals and tourists, great atmosphere, nice service, good food, nothing to complain about.

I had high expectations of this restaurant after seeing the Trip Advisor Rating. It didn't quite live up to its reputation, although the food was very pleasant, the service was reasonable and the cost wasn't too bad for a highly rated restaurant. The restaurant was fully booked and service was quite slow. The waiter forgot one of our courses, which... More

This restaurant was one of several on a list recommended by our hotel and we also overhead a fellow guest raving about it. Can't say much more than has already been said, we had dinner and we fell in love with the food - excellent, full of flavour-, the place, the atmosphere and the host- a lovely young Cambodian woman.
