Nice place for a casual dinner

It was a bit off putting being the only guests on a Friday evening in this family run restaurant. The waitress explained that people eat early in Phnom Penh. The food was tasty and had a home cooked appearance. The steaks were a good choice. And came from local cattle. The wine list left a bit... read more

We had out to this place in the evening after business meeting, it was a hidden place which we had to drive several time, I don't think much driver knows this place. We had to use the GPS to find this place and it took me about 45 minutes from the hotel I stayed. Finally we reach the place and... More

The place is cozy and small so it is good for a nice casual dinner. We ordered the Plat du Jour: Roast beef and gratin, and Beef tenderloin with ratatouille and mashed potato. Both meals were superb, and to think they are only about 10USD! The meats were tender and medium rare with simple (not overpowering) sauce so we both... More

We arrived early at the restaurant last evening for a meal. The location is not very attractive but once you are inside it is clean, tables are placed at a distance from each other and the welcome warm. We ordered 2 French onion soups, 1 beef tenderloin and 1 fish with tarragon sauce. The food was served piping hot with... More

I have been going to La Marmite for about 4 years. It's changed a bit recently (they've walled off the other half of the dining area, so it's a lot smaller) but things haven't changed so much in that time. It's a very classically French restaurant, run by a French man. The setting is quite nice, and service is very... More

Looks like a French bistro and serves the type of food you would expect from one. Authentic. A bit tired on the inside but don't let that put you off - service is very attentive - but easier if you speak French. If just want to relax, have some good French food and a decent bottle of wine and not... More

This is one of the unknown and very stable french food restaurant in Phnom Penh with an extensive menu, plat du jour, sets and nice service. On top of that the pricing is very competitive and you can eat for below $10 easily. They have delicious steak tartar, excellent minced beef (not on the menu) and a wide selection of... More

It was our first night back in Phnom Penh and we were looking forward to returning to La Marmite. When we arrived there was nobody in the restaurant, which we found unusual as when we had visited in the past it was always pretty full. My wife ordered cappaccio of Swordfish and I had Charcuterie the starters were just OK.... More

Food here is done superbly. I had chicken and ginger with a side of green beans. I was most impressed that I didn't have to have any rice with my meal (I don't like it, and invariably leave whatever I'm given behind). It's easy to eat a healthy, balanced meal here that is also scrumptious. The restaurant is owned by... More
