I enjoyed this place - it was almost home away from home. A little higher priced than most places but if you are looking for a filling breakfast and great coffee this place is great. Great wifi, cozy environment and nice and cool! The staff are a little slow.

Located right next to the Independent Monument, Java Cafe is in a great location. They offer Mondulkri Coffee - which is a really smooth and flavorful Cambodian coffee. I also tried the banana and apple muffins and the white chocolate chip cookie. Everything was excellent. I'd recommend stopping by for a cup!

Th Java Cafe has been around at least 12 years....the bakery and cafe downstairs does great bread, cakes and coffee etc but there is a restaurant upstairs too accessed by stairs at the side of the buidling. The soups (either cauliflower or curried lentil) are both great as is the salad Nicoise. But the draw is the amazing passion fruit... More

I had high expectations of a yummy salad and tasty bread, but alas lots of green lettuce about 12 shreds of carrot, six sultanas and walnuts with a bare sprinkling of blue cheese with about half an apple was the rather expensive $4.25 I think I will go back for a scone but nothing else

I really like Java on an aesthetic and comfort level. They have a nice patio upstairs with comfy chairs, a nice view, and fast internet - all making it a great place to work from. Unfortunately, the food is never very nice (except for the cookies). The sandwiches, quiche, pastas - all have been quite bland on every occasion.

Went there this morning and had a coffee and a cake. Super. Loved the place but the service was not caring. Saw that they also had a terrace upstairs so went again for lunch. Location great, service very average. Go there for coffee and cake but have your meals at a different place

This is an expat hang out..families, young backpackers and casual business meetings. We ordered three drinks and a chocolate muffin. The $1.50 green tea was hot water and a tea bag... House coffee was decent and it came with a tiny cookie on the side. The Ladybug was a smoothie and was tasty but extremely sweet. The chocolate chip muffin... More

For a refreshing Western style escape from Cambodia, Java is a good choice. Food is wonderful, location is great. My vote is to dine in the upstairs area on the lovely, leafy verandah. Allow yourself more time (maybe 30-40min more) as the service on each of my visits there has been quite slow, and with the occasional missing or incorrrect... More

A great place if you want to relax or work, enjoying a great coffee and having lunch. It is a westerner place (so do not expect anything typical cambodian). There is a a great choices of eggs, pancakes, burgers, pastas, salads, bagels... and they also have regularly new specials. From 5 to 7pm, they do happy hour, which makes the... More

During the three years we lived in Phnom Penh, my wife and I were frequent visitors to Java Cafe for their terrific coffee, fantastic scones and, come lunch time, the amazing red pepper salad, which for my money is Phnom Penh's best lunch salad. Best wifi in the city, too, and a wonderful, friendly, English-speaking staff.
