We have been operating since 2008 and hold half day cooking classes for visitors to Nha Trang at a cost of $24 USD per person. It is a great experience of travelling to the local market, buying food and then preparing 3 dishes as chosen by the guests. We also provide a small recipe book at the completion of the tour, as a memento and keepsake. We are also keen to differentiate ourselves from all the other dining places in Nha Trang and give the customer a unique Vietnamese experience. One area is, we are strongly supporting 12 local orphanages. I spent 2 months travelling through Nha Trang & Vietnam & spent a lot of my time with the children at orphanages. As a result, I am trying to give back to these kids, by teaching them life skills and how the real world operates, outside of the usual visits and photo opportunity. That's where the idea for Lanterns came. We invite kids and their careers to each at least one day per month, but any time they wish to come. We encourage the schools/orphanages to allow the older kids to gain work experience at our place and meet the people who visit Vietnam first hand, in a friendly helpful environment. One thing I am strongly committed to, is making sure the kids are not exploited in any way and nothing is ever done without discussing it & getting approval from the carers involved.

Good food, good service, good price, done right

Lanterns serves traditional Vietnamese in a manner that is quite palatable for non-Vietnamese and Vietnamese people alike. If you are in Nha Trang, go check out Lanterns restaurant. Great value for your money and the food was very good. There were good choices on the menu and the hibachi on the table was really fun. Everyone found something they liked to eat and the service was great as well. The atmosphere (with lanterns overhead) was really nice... More

From the time you arrive staff are friendly & happy Service was great even though the place was full. The open ceiling makes the restaurant cool to sit & relax to enjoy the delicious meal - had the seafood pancakes & the basa with lemon butter , "yum" Very affordable

We were looking to eat somewhere different on our second night in Nha Trang and hotel staff recommended Lantern's as one of the best in town. They were not wrong. Mid week it was buzzing; with people waiting on tables - a good idea to put them at tables at the back of the restaurant to wait for proper tables... More

Having experienced the inability/resistance of some Vietnamese to speak English, we were happy to get a whole new image of the people at Lanterns. They were friendly and chatty! And the food was good too :) We also went on a Street food tour organized by the restaurant - very interesting!

BBQ red snapper, cashew coconut chicken, Vietnamese pancake to share were plenty for two. Good wine selection and friendly English speaking staff. Overall great atmosphere!

Fabulous food and the best service that I ever had in Asia. The staff were super friendly & accommodating. From the very helpful manager to all the waitress'. They all had warm smiles -- I will definitely be going back for the amazing food and friendly service.
