We have been operating since 2008 and hold half day cooking classes for visitors to Nha Trang at a cost of $24 USD per person. It is a great experience of travelling to the local market, buying food and then preparing 3 dishes as chosen by the guests. We also provide a small recipe book at the completion of the tour, as a memento and keepsake. We are also keen to differentiate ourselves from all the other dining places in Nha Trang and give the customer a unique Vietnamese experience. One area is, we are strongly supporting 12 local orphanages. I spent 2 months travelling through Nha Trang & Vietnam & spent a lot of my time with the children at orphanages. As a result, I am trying to give back to these kids, by teaching them life skills and how the real world operates, outside of the usual visits and photo opportunity. That's where the idea for Lanterns came. We invite kids and their careers to each at least one day per month, but any time they wish to come. We encourage the schools/orphanages to allow the older kids to gain work experience at our place and meet the people who visit Vietnam first hand, in a friendly helpful environment. One thing I am strongly committed to, is making sure the kids are not exploited in any way and nothing is ever done without discussing it & getting approval from the carers involved.

I went there with my family after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. I had Cơm Tấm and coconut juice, I found the rice not cooked that well. The rest was okay. Most people eating there were foreign tourists so the staff were speaking in English all the time. Even when it became obvious that my mother was Vietnamese and could... More

The food is reasonable at Lanterns Vietnamese restaurant but priced at tourist price. It is a safe bet for some good authentic Vietnamese cuisines in a clean, tastefully decorated restaurant. Recommended.

We had a dinner and lunch at the restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious and the staff were very friendly. It's a busy place but the service was attentive and prompt. While there we looked at their tour brochure and booked in for the Street Food Tour and City Walking Tour - the latter is a free service!

We went to Nha Trang and spent time searching for good value and quality places to eat. Great news we found lanterns in Nha Trang. Good wine selections form Argentina , France, Australia and Spain . I would recommend to have the red wine served chilled due to the high humity and hot weather . The Food was tasty fresh... More

Lovely staff, especially Khanh, our little sweetheart. Delicious food at incredibly reasonable prices. Where else could you eat and drink so well for under £16 for four people? A friendly, happy place that we'll enjoy again tonight : )

My wife selected the chicken curry while I shared the chicken and pork BBQ with a friend. Managing the BBQ was simple and fun. While the chicken and pork had been marinated I had expected more flavour. Perhaps I need to order some vegetables to enhance the flavour. The chicken curry was fine but again lacked a little something that... More

Had a really lovely lunch here on our last day- had a chat with one if the waitresses while waiting for our food- she was so friendly! The food was really tasty. While I was eating I saw the staff cleaning- and I mean properly cleaning the tables and chairs- good to know it is looked after and hygienic!
