Well worth the number one spot with great advice how to get the best from the menu and a wonderful chance to enjoy a meal away from the perpetual smokers in the hotel restaurants
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. It's on a quiet alley away from the hustle and chaos of the city. But close to the Citadel. Everything we ordered was delicious. The highlight was the grilled duck with lemongrass and chili. The mackerel in the claypot was a little tough. Nice wine selection and good value for the quality of the meal.... More
We enjoyed our dinner in this lovely old house near the citadel. My husband loved his spaghetti bolognese. I ordered the Australian beef filet and it was not as tender as i expected and I suspect it was cooked too quickly as the edges weoverlook cooked. Overall our meal was pleasant. We had a bottle of Chilean red wine which... More
I have eaten here a couple of times and I rate it as good but disappointing - as it could easily be so much better. The setting is very pleasant and I recommend the verandah when the weather is congenial. The menu is ridiculously large and seriously compromises the identity of the restaurant, which claims to be French/Vietnamese. There is... More
The food and service was very good. We had a pasta, a French and 3 Vietnamese dishes. The dishes were very tasty but would have been better if they were slightly bigger for the price. Desserts also could have been a bit more interesting for the price.
Having read reviews of this restaurant we had already decided to book a table here and the day before our guide told he would drop us off at a good place for lunch which turned out to be the same place. Lunch was great I had mackerel in clay pot which was amazing for lunch. The weather was damp and... More
After reading two terrible reviews we almost canceled our reservation on February 20, 2014. I'm so glad we didn't! Those two reviews were either an honest mistake as there is a restaurant with a similar name 'Carambole' that had a good reputation in the past but is considered a bad choice today or simply written by competition. My wife and... More
We enjoyed a great meal in this lovely restaurant .Great Service by smiling waitresses, who created a nice atmosphere all overseen by the charming owner. Having read the reviews from Australia and Japan I can only conclude they were in a different restaurant as Les Jardins is the only one on that street.
It is extremely rare to find a fireplace in a Hue restaurant, but this lovely colonial style home converted to a restaurant has two open fireplaces. I have been there three times in my 3-week stay in Hue, and each time I was looking forward to the next time! I' ve been for both lunch and dinner. We've tried the... More
An evocative name, some French influence but we ended up having Vietnamese main courses and wine, with French influenced sweets and coffee. A very enjoyable night with a group of fellow travellers. $A47 for two.
