Hard to find, worth the visit.

Visited this restaurant for dinner. It was dark when we visited and were very happy that we were not trying to find this place by ourselves. The grounds are beautiful, all lit up. The room that we had our meal in was beautifully done, lots of exposed and carved wood. The meal was amazing, food... read more

We stepped into this restaurant at nightfall and were enchanted by its ambience. The rooms are tastefully decorated with captivating Vietnamese paintings and sculpture. The staff treated us like royalty and indeed, the dishes, every one of them, were not only beautifully flavoured, but served on vegetables carved into dragons, phoenixes, and flowers. We gave the restaurant high marks for... More

Second visit in two years. This restaurant continues to offer exqusite cusinne, exceptional service and unparalled ambiance. I visit Hue often and the Ancient Hue Restaurant is in a class all by itself. If you have only one opportunity to dine in Hue, do not overlook the Ancient Hue.

This place is incredible. Loved the food, loved the atmosphere and loved the staff. All together created a great night out and a must do to spoil yourself when in Hue.

One of the best meals we have had, not just in Vietnam, but anywhere. There were only a handful of people in the restaurant, but that had no effect on the quality of the food or service. We had the spring roll trio, the country duck, feta stuffed chicken with basaltic sauce, and the coconut creme' brûlée with banana ice... More

This restaurant is located in a traditional Vietnamese house and is just beautiful. It's so nice to sit and enjoy this museum quality location while waiting to be served your meal. You'll be happy to know that this restaurant is not just about the setting. The service and food is excellent also. So far, the best I've had in Vietnam.... More

This place was very hidden so you definitely have to know where to go to find it. The atmosphere was pretty with an old-traditional look. I was very surprised to see that our small group were the only people dining in the restaurant and we were that at prime dinner time. They had the best, most ornate decorative food carvings... More

I had dinner in this restaurant on few occasion and it used to be nice in the past due to proper management. Last month I had dinner and ordered for Tom Yam soup which is a popular Thai soup and the soup was not at all Tom Yam soup, it was Vietnamese soup. When we talked to them they had... More

The wintery grey skies of Hue didn't do much to welcome us, and as we weaved through the traffic on our dodgy rented motorbikes we felt as though we were somewhere deep within Soviet Russia rather than the green pastures of Vietnam that we had seen in all the guide books. My subconscious was telling me to leave the confines... More
