We were taken to this restaurant by our tour guide. The staff and owner are lovely and the photos on display are really quite beautiful. Surprisingly our guide who order squid with a salad didnt really eat his food. I Had the beef and broccoli which was nothing special, pepper was the main flavour. My son had pasta carbonara which... Great little restaurant with excellent service and great food. Owner takes photos as a hobby and offered us 2 free postcards as a gift very nice touch. This restaurant is good value for your money and a large choice of food. 2 course meal with drinks and a tip $25.

Went here with family due to recommendation in Lonely Planet. It was excellent. The owner is a very talented photographer and his work makes for interesting viewing, and as others have commented, his prints make nice souvenirs. The menu is vast - not usually a good sign - but all the dishes we ordered were very pleasant. The spring roll... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal of pho ga and banh Khoai. The photographs by the owner are spectacular. Check out the history of this man to really appreciate what he has accomplished. Staff were friendly and welcoming especially Mr. Cu who spoke to us a few times during our meal. We would recommend this place for a reasonably priced meal.

We visited the Mandarin Cafe in November 2014 as part of a travel group. WE found the owner's photos were wonderful and would highly recommend them as souvenirs. However we were very disappointed with the food on the night - this may have been a once off as all the reviews had been good. We both had burgers - one... More

nt from someone I met in Hue it run by Mr Cu, a photographer whose works adorn the walls. Excellent photographs. The food also is excellent, and very reasonably priced. I had crab and sweetcorn soup which was very tasty, followed by stir fried prawns with chilli and ginger. Service was very attentive and efficient. It was not too expensive,... More

We learned about the Mandarin Cafe while chatting with Australian travelers at our hotel in Hoi An. As soon as we ordered Mr Cu came over and gave us an album of his spectacular photographs to look at. He gave us several post card sized photos, which he signed for us, and we purchased several other larger photos. He told... More

This small cafe receives the top rating, not for its food, but value for money. For 160,000 Dong we had Chicken Soup, beef fried noodles, beer and pineapple juice, in GBP that is £5. The food was good albeit we have eaten better but have paid far more, also the photographs that adorn the wall are another good reason to... More

Such a great place to relax and talk to friends! Great food at great prices and the staff were so friendly! My friend had the pho and loved it and I had the fried rice which was great too! We both left full and wanting to go back again the next day! The owner of the restaurant was sooooo nice!... More

Found in our guide book, this cafe was perfect for reasonably priced food in a great location. Friendly staff, great menu and lots of local info to book guided tours. A casual place, catering for back packers, but welcoming to al guests. Brilliant!
