Great lunch with local thin noodles made to perfection. we've tried few versions elsewhere but i's the best here. Savory soup, tender beef, melt-in-the-mouth rice noodles make this an unforgettable meal.

On Tet morning I was craving pancakes and wanted to check out the Mandarin Cafe based on my interest in photography (owner Mr. Cu is a very talented photographer and he also exhibits his images there). Now this being the biggest holiday in Vietnam they were closed, but Mr. Cu saw me outside admiring his photos and invited me inside... More

Faced with an unexpected 5 hour stop in Hue between buses, we turned to the Lonely Planet guide for somewhere to get breakfast and put down our backpacks. As we are interested in photography we chose the Mandarin Cafe and it turned out to be a brilliant decision. After iced coffee and banana pancakes which were great, the owner of... More

Me and my friend were in Hue for 5 hours between buses to Hoi An. We found out about the Mandarin Cafe in the Lonely Planet guide book and decided to go for some breakfast. The food was great and within 10 minutes Mr Phan Cu, the owner who's incredible photographs adorn the walls walked in and immediately started chatting... More

I was very badly sick all night after my meal. I've forgotten what I had exactly but it was a mixture of some of the set menu... More

We were fresh off the plane from the UK, and the weather was not holiday-like, but lunch at Mandarin immediately made us feel that we were in a special country. The pho was great, we had 4 other dishes and a few drinks and the bill was still only £10 (350000 dong). Mr Cu came over to see us, showed... More
