Good quick eat

Had a look at the menu on the way past and looked reasonably priced so went in. Good service, we met the owner who gave us a free post card and a walking map of the city which was helpful. The place isn't much to look at but left satisfied.

I went there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All was good, service is good and the food comes fast. And it's delicious to a reasonable price. The owner, Mr. Cu, is a good photographer. The walls in the cafe has many of his photos. Just that is worth a visit. You can also buy some of his work.

This place was recommended by our guide but I bet he's never eaten there. Having just come from South Vietnam and in particular Hoi An where the food has been nothing short of spectacular, we were so disappointed. The food was AWFUL. The spring rolls were bitter and the sauce did nothing to retrieve them. We had a duck and... More

This cafe is definitely worth the visit for the fresh shrimp spring rolls alone! But even more notable is the Art that the owner has on display and for sale (his own photography). We bought two beautiful pictures to frame at home. Lovely staff and worth a go!

As others note the Mandarin Cafe has a different feature with the owner being such an accomplished photographer. His work adorns the walls and photo albums are provided to browse through. Our lunch was fine and service was prompt which was appreciated as like most tourists we had things to do and places to see.

Disclaimer: I am far from being an expert on Vietnamese cuisine, but this was my favorite restaurant from Saigon to Hanoi and everywhere in between. The menu is vast, and Mr. Chu is very friendly and accommodating. His photographs decorate the walls, and they are amazing!

Quite an ordinary looking family restaurant but delicious freshly cooked food. Mr Chu's great photography books kept us busy while we waited for our meals..we didn't wait too long and wolfed into the food when it came...so tasty and we didn't come up for air til the plates were clean. Thank you Mr Chu and family.

This is a fantastic place for lunch. We had a group of 12 and everyone loved their food. Three things that are most interesting about this place in addition to the food: The menu = it goes on for page after page. They have both Vietnamese and Western food, Vegetarian, dessert - a ton of choices. The staff are very... More

We had a quiet and perfecte lunch in Mandarin Cafe. While eating delicious vietnamese food (menu in english & french) nice pictures invite you to keep on travelling around Vietnam. 👌
