Arrive early or reserve a table as this place is small it gets very busy. Try the Punch Coco which comes in a coconut and really tastes fab! Menu is great and the desserts are excellent. Don't miss while in Hue.

Recommended by our guide, we dined here tonight. Luckily we arrived fairly early, as the place soon filled up - and with good reason. We tried the crispy pancakes and fresh spring rolls from the Hue speciality menu with a bottle of Stellenbosch Shiraz and really enjoyed the fresh flavours. Then on to their cheeseboard - quite unusual in Vietnam,... More

we booked in for a meal as we'd seen that it was always such a busy restaurant (difficult to get a table). We were greeted by the friendly staff and they were more than happy to move us to an outside table at our request. The tables inside are all very close together which is quite strange, and you feel... More

We had a lovely meal here, we walked past it during the day and looked at the menu. We were interested but wanted to check out the other places before we made a choice. The woman at the front of house told us we should book, but we thought we'd risk it as all the other places we have been... More

To be fair, the food wasn't bad, but on the other hand we had enjoyed better Vietnamese food with the locals at their street vendors. On saying that, we were in a rush, and having looked around a few streets, couldn't see anything else that appealed.

The set standard 5-course tourist meal was boring and not very good; if you go, order a la carte--those dishes 'looked' a lot better. (Our pork was off and one of our party got sick, so be selective.) Popular cafe with inexpensive beer; lots of backpacker-type tourists so a cheerful upbeat atmosphere. I wouldn't return however; Vietnamese food is usually... More

3 of us came, 1 starter came 1st then other 2 came 10 min later. Whilst still eating the 2 starters the mains come. Pork was chewy as hell with bland tasteless sauce. The chicken in my main tasted great but it came with rice and no sauce. The last main was duck, again chewy as hell and served with... More

I had a dry piece of mackerel with some very over cooked rice - I went for lunch and it was very quiet so maybe an evening meal would be a better choice - I decided not to risk it...

La Carambole is a popular restaurant in the tourist area of Hue. We visited as it had a French and Vietnamese menu which was great as we wanted a bit of a change from just a Vietnamese menu. The food was good but if you are looking for top notch French cuisine I think you might be disappointed.
