we certainly couldn't find it under Hotel au Lac.....though there was an empty place that looked as if it could have been a restaurant. Disappointing! Also there are few other restaurants that side of the roadworks at present (several being refurbed) - so don't make the mistake of going out of your way!!

Dear EE_on_the_road, Firstly, we would like to apologize for causing your dispointment. We did not close, we MOVED to different location. At the moment of your visit, the cover picture of our page had a notice of relocation going on, most probably you haven't seen it. Hope to see you in our new place! Thank you & Best regards, Anna More

We popped in a couple of times for a glass of wine, as we were staying at Au Lac II next door. We hoped to have lunch there on our last day in Saigon but unfortunately the restaurant is closed on Sunday. However, we enjoyed the atmosphere and were sorry we weren't able to further investigate the enticing aromas!

Bahdja is a cozy little place underneath Au Lac Hotel, just behind the Bitexco building. The food is Algerian: couscous, tajines, etc. Absolutely everything on the menu is good! The chekchouka (Algerian ratatoullie), tomato paprika salad (served in a parmesan basket), couscous merguez, and seafood tajine are particular favorites...but I order something different every time I go, there's just so... This restaurant is hands down the best one my wife and I discovered in six weeks in Vietnam. The owner, Ahmed, was on hand to explain his dishes to us, a very classy and friendly man. We had an appetizer plate with 4 different types of Algerian sauces, home baked bread and olives in a tangy marinade. The 4 sauces... More

Visited 1st time at this restaurant for lunch with wife & found the decision right as gone after watching comments on trip advisor. Ordered 3 dishes. Falafel / Lamb Couscous / Veg Tajine. In starters Chutney's with 2 different flavors really complemented bread basket. Lamb Couscous was really amazing & specially curry. Only 1 comment was suggested to lady owner... More

Visited this restaurant a couple of days ago. The lady of the house gave excellent advice on what each dish was and had the dishes served in a platter format for my wife and I to try everything. All the food was excellent. will be back here

What more can I say. We've travelled the length and breath of Vietnam and never experienced a meal and hospitality as good as this. Russia meets Algeria in An amazing cultural blend that delivers an incredible taste sensation. If only this Restuarant existed in Australia. Oh, and do yourself a favour and try the Macroccan wine and Russian Vodka. Superbly... More
