The taxi ride from our near Ben Thanh Market's hotel were more expensive than the meals itself. But the food and the honest service from the staff of the restaurant were worth the trip. We tried their caramelized fish, pork ribs, stuffed tofu, bitter gourd and they were all awesome. Saw a guest next to us having a plate of... More

we were feeling a bit frustrated with the tourist centric restaurants in district 1 and having trouble finding really local restaurants we decided to explore the other districts. we read about Dong Hoa Xuan first on the eating saigon blog and then on trip advisor ... the overwhelmingly positive reviews compelled us to hop in a taxi and give it... I thought EatingSaigon.com was exaggerating, but it was one of the best and most interesting meals I have had in three weeks in Vietnam - and I am obsessed about food. The simple setting and menu made my husband think I was insane to get a taxi there just for a lunch -but then he absolutely loved it. Highly recommended.

Easy to find with google maps. Around 100+ dong cab ride from Bui Vien ( backpackers area). Staff very friendly and food was really great! Prices very cheap too

If you are staying in district 1 it's not worth a special trip there!! The fare is 95k per trip! The shop is just a small local shop and basically it's what we call Economy Rice back in Singapore. The Ca Kho fish is so so, very small portion and not suitable for kids with its bones and spiciness. Grilled... More

My mouth is watering as i type this. On the outside it doesnt look good, it doesnt look very clean. But if you value food, just walk in. Great dishes served here daily and on low prices. Spring rolls to die for. They could improve the look of the place, but otherwise great joint

Still my #1 favorite place to eat in Saigon! (I can't stop going back for the caramelized fish steaks!) But only open for breakfast and lunch. Get there before noon for the best section of the best food in Saigon!

If I had to pick one place for eating in Ho Chi Minh City, it would be Dong Hoa. While most places in Vietnam serve excellent food, this place is just something else. We didn’t expect Vietnamese food to taste like this. Their caramelized fish is really worth all the praise it’s getting. We found the place easily, so really... More

I live in NYC and I am working in Binh Than District for three weeks. Read about this restaurant on tripadvisor and found that it is right around the corner from the office. So, I tried it with some of the staff. They had never eaten there. After, two visits and a delivery. I am blown away by the food.... More

We found this restaurant through a friend's food blog. We were still learning how to take the bus to get around HCMC, and were nervous we might miss the stop and wind up totally lost. Luckily, it wasn't too far from District 1, and the bus let us off almost right in front if the restaurant. It's a great little... More
