Lesson in how to make a spring roll

We went for dinner. It is a lovely building with no air conditioning. Happily we say on the ground floor beside the pond and under a fan. I ordered shrimp spring rolls. The waiter peels the shrimp for you and showed me how to build a spring roll. Very yummy. I also tried the snails in coconut milk... read more

The building is lovely, large pond/fountain and garden area. We were seated inside and it was extremely hot, no air flow or fans, I think it would have been cooler in the garden. The menu is translated and easy to read, staff were polite but not overly attentive. Food was mainly tasty, except for the springs rolls which just tasted... More

Nha Hang Ngon 160 Pasteur, Phong Ben Nghe Quan 1, Tp. HCM Tel: (+84 8)3827 7131 website: www.quanannagon.com This restaurant has most of the Vietnamese typical food in one place. If you do not have much time to prowl the local food stalls, this is the place. The restaurant has three levels of dining space and there is no elevator.... More

On our last night in Ho Chi Minh, we just wanted a casual local joint. This bustling outpost is well light, nicely decorated, well staffed and has delicious food. Great service and inexpensive.

I was recommended from local VN friend. Lucky us we already booked first so we didn't wait for long time, because the restaurant always full. Food was delicious with reasonable price. Actualy it's cheaper compare to other VN restaurant near our hotel. Worth to try

Our dinner here last night was just plain bad. It was probably our worst meal in all of Vietnam (we've been in the country for about 2 weeks). The dishes were so uninspired and you could tell they'd just been thrown together to order as nothing took on the flavours of the other ingredients in the dish. On top of... More

I wanted to go to this place, as we had a great experience in a similar concept restaurant in Hanoi (Quan An Ngon). And I was really disappointed, as the experience was absolutely different. The staff was serving without any attention to clients, very automatically, no personal touch. The food turned out to be quite basic, yet overpriced. The only... More

We went hear for lunch, ordered a papaya with dry beef salad and a fried chicken with steamed rice & garlic. Quite frankly, the salad was the worst food we've had in Vietnam; tasteless beef swimming in a pool of soy sauce surrounded by stale prawn crackers (see picture) and dry strands of papaya. Despite raising this to the manager... More

It's basically a roadside traditional Vietnamese restaurant - with two floors. I sat outside, just to get to see the chefs all around - busy cooking. The waiters were very efficient and informative, although the place was really crowded. A must visit if you are in town.

Amazing vietnamese food, great atmosphere - you can see all the fresh ingredients placed around the grills and watch chefs prepare the meals. Low prices (60000 for bun thit nuong).
