I ended up in this wonderful establishment after an expat friend of mine recommended it, and it certainly did not disappoint! The décor is divine, a beautiful environment. There are lots of twists, turns, unusual staircases, wooden fixtures, tiny doors. It makes you feel as though you're entering a 'secret' world, who knows what's behind that tiny door! The food... Our other dining highlight in HCMC afte rQuan Bui was this lovely establishment. A friend recommended it to us and he was spot on the money. It's right on the edge of District 1 down a little residential road. You're greeted by security ensuring you have a reservation;it would be a sad and wasted journey if you hadn't booked and... More

I totally agree with the enthusiastic reviews here on Tripadvisor and other publications. And a friend who recently visited HCMC also highly recommended this small, chic and classy establishment on the outskirts of District 1. Service was superb from the security guard greeting us on the street to ensure we had a booking and would n't face the drive back... More

This restaurant is on a quiet, calm street out of the hustle and bustle of the rest of District 1 and feels like a breath of fresh air. It was recommended to us by a local friend who lives in the area and we decided to check it out on our last night. We read online before arriving that we... More

This place were very nice. The food were authentic and delicious. The decoration were really Vietnamese style. We tried fresh spring roll dipping in sour shrimp sauce. Very nice and noodle seafood so good. Service were good but not the best we had received in vietnam. I recommend this place.

An otherwise nice meal was marred by the insistence of the restaurant to squeeze some extra pennies. The food was quite good, well prepared, and served by capable, knowledgable staff. What ruined it was when I pointed out that pickled eggplant on the menu was d50,000 but was d70,000 on the bill. When I pointed this out the server snapped... More

It comes as little surprise that the owner is an architect when you step into this cleverly renovated old villa. The decor is rustic and elegant at the same time, which is also true of the food, which excels. Despite its tucked-away location in the northernmost reaches of District 1, this is no secret hideaway: book ahead; as it is... More

After traveling to Vietnam for 3 years, this is still my favourite restaurant! The architecture is unique, rustic, and so much to see! They use timber wood tables which some are really large and beautiful. There is 2 building opposite of each other, and in 1 of it, sits a statue of Ho Chi Minh himself! And amazingly this place... Ex colleague invited me to this quaint, located out of the way restaurant serving local Vietnamese food which were all deliciously flavored. Ordered combination of sauteed vegetables, tofu, fish, meat and rice. Loved their natural juice with real plant straw (Morning Glory/KangKong stalk), not plastic - it was fresh and served in a cute bottle to be poured on small... More
