Comfort food.

This was a typical Irish bar except.... No Guiness! Not even in bottles or cans. This was extremely disappointing. The food was good though.

Very good Irish bar with plasma tv and most sporting events. Music can be changed to a customers taste from the bar PC. Has a small outside area with tables as well as an indoor bar and is situated at the lower end of bar street so is central. Limited food menu. Pleasant bar staff who can speak English. Well... More

Beanies looked to be the perfect spot to watch a NRL game as publicised on their website. On arrival the game was on but no volume just loud bad music playing. I asked to have the volume turned up and the Chanel was changed then couldn't get the game back on. Moved to another tv and asked again for the... More

My friend Nhan and I had been riding around Saigon doing some shopping. Lunch time & I produced a business card for Bernie's. Had been there 2 years ago and had lunch & beers out front & watched the street scene. It was pretty damn good then. Bernie's wife told us all about Bernie & his time with a certain... More

Stopped in here for a drink. Nothing earth shattering to say, except that my girlfriend ordered a Cosmopolitan and according to her, was the best one she has ever had. But, in a place like Vietnam, the drinks were a little on the expensive side (100,000 VND for a pint of Heineken), so I might recommend going elsewhere.

Now living in HCMC, had to do the Irish pubs. Bernie's is the better of the Irish pubs in the city. Went there yesterday for lunch & a pint with some visitors. Decided to try the full Irish breakfast :( The Sausage - let down. The Black pudding - let down :( Anyways... main reason for this review is the... More

The bar was just around the corner from our hotel (Paragon) and as we were only in HMC for 4 nights it was a very handy place to finish off the day. We did'nt plan to eat there but ended up have either breakfast or evening meal there - pie was very good !. Staff were very nice and friendly.... More

Came in for a quick snack of French Fries and a drink. The fries were a good texture but not great flavor. The oil used to cook the fries tasted old so the fries didn't taste very fresh. Also, they only have Heinz factory ketchup instead of homemade, which is very sugary and filled with chemicals. Making the ketchup from... More

We had 4 hours one afternoon to explore and walked all around Ho Chi Min City when we came across Bernies. The place was clean, air conditioned, great drinks and the kids were all looked after. The memorabilia and vibe in the place was excellent and we stayed about an hour; I even had a quick game of pool up... More

If you're missing a bit of home this place is okay. The meals take a long time to come out (one of our meals took 1.5 hours). Fish & chips were pretty good. This is one of the only places I've seen in Vietnam that sells cidar. It has aircon and is non-smoking. The staff don't speak English very well.
