Very Pleasant Outdoor Dining

I really enjoyed my visit at Hoa Tuc in Ho Chi Minh City. The restaurant is located in an alley that is accessed through an arched gate in the central part of District 1 just behind the Opera House. In dry season there are lots of outdoor tables on the patios as well as dining inside. I dined... read more

It sounds unbelievable, but in fact it is true: It is difficult to find in Ho Chi Minh City (ex Saigon) a restaurant offering authentic Vietnamese dishes. We tested several restaurants and found the Hoa Tuc Restaurant to offer the very best Vietnamese Cuisine. If you arrive late for dinner, it is the best to go inside, because there is... More

Having been to Vietnam a couple of times I never thought much about Vietnamese food. Tasty, but nothing to write home about. Our recent meal at Hoa Tuc made me change my mind! We ordered a number of dishes to share - each and every one of them was executed beautifully and tasted great. Good service, lovely setting (outdoor courtyard)... More

This was an end of tour meal with a Travel Marvel group and the restaurant looked after us in every way. The set meal was very tasty and there was plenty of it. The location is excellent as the restaurant is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We would certainly go back.

Good Vietnamese food, especially spring rolls and beef in betel leaf. Service was patchy with wrong drinks long waits and some forgotten items Nice setting and good location

I wouldn't say it was excellent but we went there twice and found it to be a good, relaxing place to eat. On one night the lebanese place across the courtyard decided to have what sounded like a belly-dancing concert but the next day it was all quiet during our late lunch. I would consider this fusion-vietnamese served with decent... More

We came here for a cooking class which was great fun, in the evening we decided to come back and have a delicious dinner in the garden. The setting is great because it's secluded from the noise and traffic of District 1. The food was fantastic and we had great service, will return soon

We booked and ate here on a Saturday evening. Very busy. We liked our starter a Sweet potato fried prawn pancake. We have had far better food in Vietnam at much cheaper prices. Both main courses were a dissapointment - poor presentation and taste. The sea bass itself was flavoursome but the sweet potato was just a poor choice to... More

Hoa Tuc offers some good local food at reasonable service and prices. It attracts quite a lot of middle-aged tourists so for that really authentic local meal I'd go to Cuc Gach or Quan Bui.

Hoa Tuc restaurant was recommended by one of our Buffalo Tour guides. It was near our hotel (the Marriott Renaissance Riverside Saigon) so we decided to give it a try. It's a good thing our guide gave us the address, because it's tucked away in a courtyard with several other restaurants. It was really good. We had a bbq beef... More
