Hoa Tuc is just 5 minutes walking distance from Caravelle hotel where I stayed. Nice ambience and fairly good food which were well presented. Though we were having local food the presentation was classy to cater to the tourists. For those who prefer the real local food without preference for ambience there are restaurants close by to, such as Vietnam... More

Somewhat disappointed here, mainly because the service felt some what perfunctory and the food a little underwhelming. Hard to put my finger on it but the restaurant seemed almost going through the motions. It was very busy when we dined there but the service was fast. We dined outside which was pleasant, even a hot evening. The restaurant is located... More

Loved this place on our visit. Had beef on a sugar cane skewer. Superb dessert made of bean paste suspended in delightful syrup.

All looks very nice, but really underwhelming food. Had to ask for extra chilli. As another reviewer said, Vietnamese food for the international pallet. Nice restaurant though - maybe a place for a special occasion - and most of the dishes had a modern twist.

Whilst the A La Carte menu prices are on the high side - come for lunch - 195k dong per person including starter, main and coffee/tea - in total for wine each and a cocktail and water it was equivalent to 45 USD - The food was most definitely worth it - beautifully prepared, presented and light, fresh, full of... A family dinner here on the last night of our Vietnamese trip did not disappoint. The courtyard setting may not be that easy to find but has the great advantage of being away from the traffic. The food is well prepared and presented with excellent quality evidently being used throughout. Mains included really excellent red snapper with sautéed green beans,... More

We went to Hoa Tuc on the recommendation of our guidebook after arriving in HCMC after a long tiring flight. The restaurant is set in an old opium refinery in a colonial-style courtyard and was a nice break from the chaos of the moped-packed roads outside. Our food was delicious, especially the crispy bahn xeo and the garlicky morning glory,... More

The mustard leaf prawn rolls were delicious. The wine selection looked decent. Don't forget to check the specials which are listed on chalk boards hung on the walls. Unfortunately we only noticed the specials after dinner. Would have tried them had we known. Prices on the high side too.

Loved this restaurant and couldn't recommend it highly enough! Service was friendly and attentive and prices reasonable. We were caught unawares with the additional 5% service fee and 10% VAT but the food was still very reasonably priced. Grilled beef starter was the highlight.
