Best Indian food in Saigon, not best Indian food in the world

If I were rating it on the Saigon Indian food scale, I'd rate it five stars. On the world Indian food scale (US, UK, Malaysia, Thailand) it rates a solid three stars. So I'm averaging those out to give a four-star rating. Other Pham Ngu Lao Indian restaurants set the bar pretty low. They're just... read more

We really had a craving for Indian dishes after tasting few Vietnamese and other dishes and then dined into Mumtaz here! Food was very reasonably priced and the staff were so friendly with excellent service. We could really feel the Indian taste and was so delicious .We tried Kashmiri Pulao, Garlic & Butter Naan with chicken Tikka masala, Pepper chicken,... More

We stayed in Ho Chi Minh City for 3 nights and been there 3 times for lunch as well as dinner. Food was very delicious and excellent service too. It's not expensive as we'll.Trust me we felt like we were eating in India. I personally recommend Mumtaz to everyone from my experience.

I had dinner in this restaurant last night and the food I thought was excellent. I ordered Dhaal Makhini, Chicken pepper fry, naan, Dosa(south Indian Vegetarain) all were excellent and as good as back home. I enjoyed well and I feel the management is new a very attentive and good place for a reasonably price and very much value for... More

The restaurant had been favorably reviewed by Lonely Planet and was literally across the street from Duc Vuong hotel. I was looking forward to a thali, which I saw on the menu. Unfortunately, the southern thali which is spicy was only available for lunch. I was told I had to have the northern thali. Each dish in the thali was... More

One of the best restaurants on Bui Vien street as far as value and service go. Unpretentious, warm and friendly - excellent value and very good food! A very enjoyable experience!

Food ok, Naan ok, Mango Lassi ok. In general just ok. No place for me to come back again. Big minus for a dirty tablecloth and American pop music in a background.

We read all the great reviews about how good the food was at Mymtaz sigion. And to be fair when we got there the place looked so tired and out of date. Me my wife my veggie mom and our 3 children went and the food was below average Please disregards all the review and take my honest vote. FIND... More

Went with 3 young kids and had a great meal. It's an unassuming place but the food tasted fresh and well seasoned. One dish was lamb curry and it was so tender. The staff was incredibly responsive: leaving us in peace but very quick when we wanted some thing.

I love indian food and this place surelly offers the real deal! Spices from Goa and indian chefs. The only bad thing was that the juice was way to sweet and that the place was way to hot. The fans död not help. But so worth it anyway for the awesome food.
