Restaurant with a cause

This restaurant is up some steep stairs! The first night we went it was full so we ate downstairs at another restaurant--excellent. We tried again another night and had our dinner. The food was very good and we had good service. Typical food choices. The fish in the clay pot was especially good!

Seriously this place is great. Staff are amazing, food is great. If you don't know what this place is about do some research first.....we went with our three kids 5,8 and 10, staff made us feel welcome and were great with the kids. You do need to book ahead as its a small venue, we booked for 6pm and got... More

We were attracted to Huong Lai by its plain unassuming exterior that did not look touristy. We read the menu on a stand downstairs, and then decided to come along for a meal. We ordered spring rolls, beef lemongrass, fish balls in tomato sauce, white and brown rice, beer and bottled water. The total was 424,000 VDN. The spring rolls... More

Very good food and lots of excellent dishes with lots of flavour. We asked if we could BYO from the liquor store 3 shops up the road and they were happy to accommodate us. Their beverage list is somewhat limited. Service was very good and the ambiance is terrific. We had 5 dishes and it was only $26.00 AUD a... More

Delicious and authentic vietnamese cuisines served by homeless adults who perform their job with passion and smiles. Slightly pricey but worth the extra cost.

Went once with my family. We were not impressed by the food. There is a lot better for far more cheaper. Though the idea is great but does not have to become a trap.

Believe the hype! This place was fantastic. A little off the beaten track, this restaurant is a hidden gem. Menu was good and varied. Staff were attentive and had good English. Food was delicious. It was served hot and fresh.

The cause maybe over-hyped the experience slightly. I think the other reviewers are exaggerating a lot. That said, restaurant looks really nice. Service was good, food was good, value for money maybe average to good. Would definitely recommend a visit, but the food is no way going to change your life like other reviews suggest. The cause clearly has huge... More
