Great Food, lovely people and cozy dine-in

Huong Lai Restautant - Great initiative by the owners to recruit and train under privileged children to serve as waiters and managers. I was hooked when I learned this restaurant trains young orphans and neglected youth in the service industry. But in addition to doing good work, the food is delicious. We ate a large lunch and enjoyed a sweet treat for dessert. Excellent.

Went here for lunch, eating area is up a steep flight of stairs, we sat right by a window which provided a great view of the street. Service was attentive. Menu had English descriptions. Food was wonderful and authentic. There is a fixed lunch multi course option which was wonderful. Highly recommend this place!

We chose this restaurant based on previous reviews and were pleased we did. The staff were attentive, pleasant and engaging. The food was fresh, vibrant, well presented, and most of all very tasty. We only wish this wasn't our last night in Saigon, as we would definitely go back. A great intitiatve by the owners, refreshing to see disadvantaged young... More

Read about this restaurant while researching vietnam. Loved the story so thought we'd give it a go. Was a bit tricky to find as no one manning door downstairs. Was or last night in Vietnam and was one of the best meals we'd had in 3 weeks.

We picked this restaurant because they do a similar thing to Koto - they take street kids and kids from abusive families and train and educate them to become waiters and chefs. THe venue is upstairs in a really nice building which had equal numbers of tourists and locals, which is always a good sign. It was so understated -... More

This restaurant has great food, decent Vietnamese wine, amazing service, at a reasonable price. We loved it so much we went twice during our short stay in the city. The servers are former poor street youth who have been given a chance with a job.

This restaurant was a bit tricky to spot - it is one floor above street level, and the doorway is narrow. Getting in involves steps. We were standing outside it, on the opposite side of the road and struggled to see it. I'm glad we persevered, though. The food was really nice. A good selection of local flavours and well... More

Found this little restaurant on Trip advisor and thought we would give it a go. Staff were wonderful and the food was great. I have been in Vietnam for 2 weeks and this is one of the best meals I have had. The spring rolls are excellent and our main were delicious as well. Do yourself a favour and dine... More

Lucky to got a table and it's one of the best Vietnamese restaurant in HCM. Love the idea of learning restaurant and some staff can speak English fluently. The price is reasonable base on the taste and service.
