Everyone came away happy

Had an enjoyable meal here today with our family of 5 and 2 tour guides. The staff were lovely and they did well to accomodate our large group when they were so busy. The meals came quickly and those hanging out for a Western meal were happy and the rest of our group enjoyed the traditional fare... read more

KOTO means Know One Teach One. It is staffed my grads of the KOTO culinary school where they recruit street kids and train them to be chefs and front of house. The food was incredible and the service was second to none! As a vegetarian, I was blown away by the numerous, delicious dishes I could have. What a fun... More

The entree and main meal were very good but my dessert, which was supposed to be a chocolate coffee mousse was very stale -almost had to use a knife to cut it. Ate some - next day I had diarrhea (not good when you are flying home!). Felt it was overpriced and certainly would not recommend the desserts. A disappointing... More

This places fills up quickly both for lunch and dinner. Lunch because it is right opposite the Temple of Literature. They do set menus, a la carte and also cooking classes. We had the set menu and the food was delicious. We had the spring rolls to start with both the pan fried and fresh ones, followed by duck, tofu... More

Generally good food, serving large tour groups, so somewhat noisy. Good Vietnamese food plus more western dishes for tastes longing for something more than rice and noodles. Very busy at lunchtime when we were there and there was a bit of a wait for drinks and food. A good place to go to taste local food if you are not... More

Near the literature temple, if you are around you can have a good meal here, clean and with good service, the menus are in a perfect inglish, it seems the owner is Australian?? Seats are confortable, our order took a while to arrive but I imagine was because of a big group of tourist seated on the first floor. Good.

Our tour guide took us here for lunch. The restaurant was busy but they found us a table. The food was amazing and the service great. A couple of coach parties arrived whilst we were there but they managed to fit everyone in and still serve everyone quickly. They had a great selection of Vietnamese dishes and everyone enjoyed their... More

KOTO is a social enterprise training establishment, working on the principle of each person being trained in hospitality passes on those skills to a new trainee. We had a cooking lesson, just the two of us, with a fascinating walk around the nearby market with our chef beforehand. He showed us many different foods there, and explained how they were... More

Worth eating here for a few reasons. Good food, located next to Temple of Literature and good cause in training young people in hospitality careers.

A long climb up the stairs but the food was well worth it. We had several courses all of high quality with impeccable service, These Koto restaurants in helping disadvantaged are a great concept and I would recommend everyone to use them, not just for the social side but for the excellent quality of the food
