Great place

Went here with our tour group for lunch. Like the idea that disadvantaged kids are trained here. Food was very good. Western and Vietnamese food. We all enjoyed our meals here. Great concept. Good prices too.

Stopped by because of the high rating on tripadvisor. Come early and by that time there's almost noone in the restaurant. First, they put us on a wobbly table, so we have to put some paper under its leg. And I believe all the tables are wobbly. Then we order some foods, somehow they forgot our salad. Then I realised... My partner and I visited Koto for lunch following a visit to the nearby Temple of Literature and to seek some relief from the heat and humidity of Hanoi in May. The first thing we noticed was the great performing air conditioning - greatly appreciated at that time! The concept of the restaurant is to help disadvantaged youth from Vietnam... More

This is well worth booking for (it gets very busy) - not only for the food and service - both of which are fantastic, but for the concept of training disadvantaged young people. They train up to 30 trainees every 6 months in life skills, English and Front of House/Kitchen skills. A wonderful idea which we should support and expand.... More

Arrived at Koto mid afternoon. Order of Banana Flower Salad and 5 Spice duck dish arrived reasonably promptly. The salad was fresh and the duck got a big tick from my husband. Staff were then busy setting tables for evening service so very little interaction and took a while to get attention to order further drink, mango lassie, which was... More

A nice little spot. Very friendly, helpful staff. A small place with cosy nice atmosphere. Old local food. It is what it is, down to earth local food.

KOTO restaurant is terrific. It's a non-profit restaurant that trains disadvantaged youth in the restaurant world. Located near the Temple of Literature. Lots of great choices to choose from and wonderful juices. Food was terrific. The staff are friendly and service good. It gets very busy so booking is a must.

I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Not only was the food delicious, the staff extremely professional but it's also a fantastic cause. I wish there were more places like KOTO around the world. Excellent restaurant, a must if you are in Hanoi.

KOTO is a fantastic restaurant just near the Temple of Literature. It's a training restaurant for disadvantaged youth....a wonderful concept and the food was fantastic. Koto takes street kids and young people at risk and houses, feeds and trains them for 2 years. They emerge as food and hospitality industry wonder kids. The food is sensational and the service warms your heart. How can you lose?
