Nice place with superb staff

We ate at this place 2 times because we liked it so much. Most dishes are around 90.000 VND (including rice), which is reasonable for a restaurant in Vietnam. There's some choice on the menu card (but not that much). What we really liked most is the very friendly staff. One girl of them had even... read more

On a recent trip to Vietnam we stayed at the Hanoi La Siesta Hotel on three occasions . About 100 metres from the hotel we found the Orchid Restaurant. We enjoyed our first meal and the staff so much we kept going back. Two of the staff namely Nghia and Lan made the night so much more enjoyable with their... More

We really enjoying having our meal at Orchid. The staff were very friendly and the food is reasonable priced. We had the fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls, pork in sweet and sour and a fish dish. All very tasty.

Our first night in Hanoi. We were staying in the Old Quarter and on leaving the hotel we decided to wander and live a little dangerously. Meaning eating somewhere new without a recommendation. The Orchid doesn't shout at you from the streets. Nor does it suggest a guaranteed winner. We probably walked past it three times before foot sore and... More

We had super service from Lan who kept the cold beers coming and was helpful with ordering. The Hanoi spring rolls were very good. The grilled chicken with coconut sauce was nothing really special. Second floor location started warm, but got better. Overall a good experience, but a 5-star special one.

We did not do the cookery school, just ate in the restaurant. It was so good we went two days in a row! Excellent service, staf were brilliant and the food was the best we ate in Vietnam. Get there early as the tables fill up quickly.

Used tripadvisor as our guide and chose this place for our first night in Hanoi. Lovely staff as per other reviews but the food was very average. Heavy and greasy, and lacked flavor. Fish dish was tough and chewy. Meals arrived at odd times, being told our main was 'best eaten while its hot', despite being 3 bites into our... More

One of my favourite meals in a month long trip in Vietnam. Had the pork in caramel sauce which was really good. The waitresses were very friendly too and added to a very pleasant ambience.

On our first day in Hanoi, we decided to come to Orchid to have our first experience of vietnamese food. Perfect choice! The vietnamese pan cake was the best we ever had, and if you are not sure yet how to eat it, the staff is always near to help you. Lan was doing the service for our table and... More
