While staying at essence hotel for 9 days I have used the restaurant several times. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of foods and the items from the morning menu are really good as well. My favorites were French Toast, banana pancake and the omelet. From the evening menu I tried the burger which unfortunately was really bad. But... More

Great food, great staff, reasonably priced. One of the best meals I've had while in Vietnam. Drinks are reasonably priced, with a good selection.

The food at the Essence Cafe is fresh and authentic (we chose Vietnamese items from the menu for the most part), but what we loved most was the great staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and made our dining experience most memorable. When we return to Hanoi we will definitely be eating at Essence again (and again) - which... More

The food and service were both excellent. Even though the waitress was a trainee at the restaurant she was wonderful and friendly. The avocado salad and the chicken pho are both highly recommended. Would have loved to of come here more however we only found it on our last day in Hanoi.

This is a restaurant hotel but is open to the public. Better make a reservation especially at dinner time because it tends to get full easily. The place, the food, the service are all very good. A bit on the high end but it is worth it!

Essence restaurant was a real treat. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and more than happy to assist with menu choices. The menu was fantastic and our favourite was the bamboo beef. We enjoyed this restaurant so much we went three times. They also had a very good wine list.

We walked into Essence without a reservation with about 14 people. They found us a table within 5 minutes, served us quickly, and the food was amazing. Just know some of the food is "make-it-your-own." We loved the rice cakes (which comes with every meal) and the ones in our group who got the desserts said they were delicious. Overall... More
