Perhaps it was because we were comparing it with the amazing flavours of the street food on the tour we went on in the morning, but the food here seemed pretty bland. My chicken and cashew nut stir fry was fine, but the broth was tasteless and the chilli in the stir fry was the only flavouring. I would have... More

Whatever the criteria, delicious food, exquisite presentation, attentive service, or value-for-money, The Essence certainly excels. We were delighted with our Spring Rolls, Grilled Sea Bass, Sauteed Shrimp, Morning Glory with Garlic and Creme Brulee. My wife's Chilean Sauv. Blanc was an enjoyable surprise... and my three beers were a gift at these prices, in an understated, classy setting. I'm glad... More

Dined with my family. An enchanting evening with good food made even better by the friendliest and attentive service people I have ever come across. They were warm and enjoyed a joke. Good English and patience. Very clean Restaurant and good menu of Vietnamese and Western. We wanted to take Lily home she was such a great host!

We decided to have a change from pho and the reviews for here looked good. We were not disappointed. Lovely fresh food with traditional Vietnamese dishes and French / western classics. The sea bream wrapped in banana leaf was delicious! Only grumble was the tiniest portion size of ice cream.

Having looked on trip advisor decided to visit the restaurant. We had a really great evening the food was excellent and not over priced for a capital city. The staff were fantastic and they go through the menu. I can recommend the spring rolls make sure that you have the fresh ones and not the deep fried ones. Shame that... More

There are tables for larger groups but also more intimate ones for couples or 3-4 people. The menu is excellent with both local and western food available and the desserts are... More
