Food here ought to be good since it is a flourishing cookery school - it is! And how wonderful that the house red wine comes from a 3 litre box, so it is always fresh. We ate there twice and would definitely do so again.

After a crazy day of exploring the old quarter we discovered this restaurant across the road from our hotel (Essence Palace, also excellent). The food was amazing. I had the bun cha which was served freshly grilled and my wife had a fish dish that cooked at the table. Both were delicious. We were so impressed that when we got... More

Lotus salad was particularly good. House white wine wasn't great! Very enjoyable meal and good price.

Chicken and corn soup and Ha Noi spring rolls were the best of any these dishes eaten while in Vietnam. Beer was cold and service attentive. English was ok so ordering not too much trouble.

We ate at 96 as it was conveniently located next to our hotel. We enjoyed our meal and were happy with the service we received. The waitress explained a few of the dishes to us and was happy to make recommendations. She was even nice enough to let us know that we'd ordered too much! We had Spring Rolls (her... More

Restaurant 96 was recommended by the receptionist of Calypso Suites. It is a 3 mins walk, and ambience is pleasant and cosy. We ordered papaya salad, grilled prawns with tamarind sauce, steamed chicken rice, grilled seabass with satay sauce and 2 lemon grass ginger drinks. It was a good meal and we enjoyed especially the papaya salad which was appetizing... More

96 is across the street from The Essence Palace, my hotel; I was tired, therefore lazy, and the menu looked good. The list was fairly extensive-divided into the usual appetizer, soup, beef, chicken, etc. categories. I had enjoyed several bia hoi so I ordered a glass of white wine-$4. It was the worst wine I had ever tasted (Indian wine... More

Located close to the May de Ville, this is a convenient place for a quick and yummy lunch. The entree calamari is fantastic with a crunchy exterior and a great dipping sauce. Good food at a reasonable price
