Had our last meal together in Hanoi in this great little restaurant and it sent us off feeling well pampered for a mid-range price ($40 feeds and waters 4 people, no problem). We can recommend the traditional Cha ca of seared fish in broth with herbs and vermicelli that arrives in a skillet on a bucket of hot coals that... More

The food is inexpensive and tasty here, but beer is on the high side co;pared with some other restaurants with similiarly priced food. Service effecient and friendly. A safe bet for the neighbourhood. Didn't have Hanoi "local" beer (450 ml bottle, 4.2% Alcohol my favourite in Hanoi, the export is technically better, more alcohol - 4.9% IIRC, hoppier and maltier,... More

Finally had Bun Cha - which was yummy, with the staff showing me how to eat. We went to Restaurant 96 on our last night in Vietnam. We all enjoyed good meals - good range on the menu. We sat upstairs.

I visited this restaurant a year ago and promised the owner a review. I'm a tad late but honestly we still talk about how great the food was. We actually visited it twice on our stay in Hanoi. Both times we enjoyed the hotpot of fish and chicken. It was so fresh and flavourful!! I still salivate thinking about it.... More

We loved this restaurant for a number of reasons. The staff are brilliant and very friendly, the young lady that served us was very helpful at making suggestions and showing us how to construct the Bun cha rolls. The cocktails were great and ultimately the food was a very high standard. I would recommend getting a table up stairs as... More

We ate here twice whilst in Hanoi, and had great meals both times. Prices are perhaps a little more expensive for Vietnam but its still very reasonable. Definately reccomend the Bun Cha and the Sea Bass steamed in banana leaf - along with a cocktail or 2! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Ask to sit upstairs.

Restaurant 96 has a menu with many options of Vietnamese food. As we dinned here towards the end of our stay in Vietnam, we were already acquainted with the dishes so it was easy to order: Vietnamese Pork Soup with Drakenfruit was very tasty, Bun Cha - excellent, mango lassi and beer :).

Our hotel suggested this restaurant about a block away, and off we went. There were six of us and we were given a table on the balcony of the third floor, the only table there. Excellent food -we had six appetizers (six different types of spring rolls),6 drinks, a bottle of wine, four main courses, and six different ice creams... More

Walked past here and saw the hot pot special, and just had to get it. The broth was wonderfully flavoursome, and the assortment of ingredients to add to it were extensive and very fresh. Was really impressed by friendly staff, and although it wasn't cheap by Hanoi standards (180,000VND), it was worth every penny. The fruit juices were also delicious!

Well 96 certainly has street appeal, looks lovely from the street, clean, welcoming. We were doing a little bia tour, bar hopping around the old town. Needed some more drinks and rest the feet. It was about 5pm so the place was empty waiting for diners to come in. We sat out the front, nice greating, big menues. Toilets nice... More
