I found the staff friendly and attentive. We ordered the fresh spring rolls which we made ourselves. I was surprised how delicious they were. The garlic aubergine was good but not as good as some reviews suggested and I am still smelling of garlic the next day! Overall a pleasant experience but not extraordinary.

After wondering around Hanoi streets after we arrived, we were hungry, tired and just ready to eat and go to bed. Restaurants were starting to close around 9pm, and we just passed by Aubergine Cafe and decided it looked open enough and reasonably priced. I was really, really happy with the food! Sautéed pork five-spice with vegetables & sautéed eggplant... More

Beautiful fresh food we ate here twice in a row. Really good pho and papaya salad. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Good cheap prices and amazing fresh flavours.

We ate here twice and both times had a lovely meal. It's not the greatest atmosphere but the pho with tofu and vegetables was amazing!

I didn't eat in here but my hotel in the Old Quarter only provided room service and both times I ordered in, it came from Aubergine. The food was terrible. I had a pizza one night - my own fault I know! I just craved Western food and thought a pizza would be ideal. The base was thick and stodgy,... More

We ate here twice - the first time, despite the name, they had run out of aubergines but what we ate was so good we decided we had to go back and try the aubergine dishes and we did. Second time we checked that they had aubergines and made a booking for the table we wanted and the food was... More

Glad we gave this place a go, quick service after wondering in at 8.45pm thinking it may be pretty close to closing time but they were welcoming. We had 4 different dishes, all very flavoursome and distinct. The caramelised tofu with lemongrass and chilli was divine, full of taste, perfect texture and unique. Most pleasing was the perfect mix of... More

The food and staff are excellent. The pizzas, "Chicken, mixed vegetables and cashews", "Fish Stir fry" are good choices.

After the rave reviews tried it out tonight. Single staff was not initially welcoming. In fact we had to ask if he was closing as it was nearly 9. Again from reviews tried the grilled aubergine. Disappointing. Swimming in soya sauce with little other flavour. Papaya salad- refreshing but bland. Noodle and pork again bland without real flavour. Too many... More

We've taken a liking to fresh spring rolls in Vietnam. At Aubergine, they bring the ingredients out to you and you make your own. This in itself was unique and interesting, but when you taste them (we had the pork) prepare for the best with a heavy ginger taste! These were by far the best we've had since being here... More
