Yin & Yang - Great Atmosphere and Food

I am in Hanoi one or two times a year. I always enjoy eating at the Yin & Yang located on Ma May St. This trip we had a large group that met at the restaurant one evening for dinner. We had more food than we could eat. I believe my favorite dish was the Green Mango salad. It was... read more

Decided to pop in for dinner on our last night in Hanoi and Vietnam as it is just around the corner and based upon the reviews. The ground floor was empty as most people seemed to be upstairs so we were the only ones downstairs. The staff were friendly and quite attentive, more experienced staff ensuring that a new starter... We had a lovely mid day meal at Yin And Yang , reasonably-priced with memorable tastes of the Vietnamese countryside. We had an unusual mustard greens soup, a plate of do it yourself spring rolls, and a delightful pho with all the great stuff that makes that soup so special. Like so many places it's a little hole in the... More

We went and had bun cha which was very nice tasting. But we went at 3pm and although they were open the staff were not very attentive as they were setting up for dinner. The reviews are warranted! Yummo!

We came here for the cocktails and didn't regret it. The mojito was amazing, as was the Cliff Dive. While we were there, we got tempted by the bun cha and the mango sticky rice. Our temptation paid off. Definitely try at least one of those if you're here.

You must try this restaurant when visiting Hanoi! We ate at here several times during our two week stay and everytime we had excellent food and excellent service. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant...it is on my list of favorite places for future visits!

We visited this restaurant following a recommendation. Good atmosphere, attentive staff. I had sweet/sour chicken which wasn't anything exciting and my other half had beef with lemongrass which was quite flavoursome. Speedy service.

Grilled lemon chicken was nicely done. The other 3 plates were a bit disappointing. Lacking zest and not well seasoned bit like the overall atmosphere of the place. Staff were helpful and attentive but it all felt a tad soporific compared to the buzz outside.

Unpretentious restaurant on a small street at the very edge of what might be considered the tourist area. We were actually lost when we found this place. The menu looked good. It was an off time of day (4 pm) but we had not had lunch. What luck! My husband ordered a margarita for starters. We live in Mexico, so... More

Went here because I read the reviews. I tried the bun cha and my boyfriend ordered the Hanoi spring rolls. I found everything bland. All the flavors seemed watered down to make them more appetizing to foreigners. I will not return. Better options in the area.
