Although the restaurant mainatins the same sign board, the chef and the manager must be different from those of the actual training restaurant. The present restaurant lost entire French style. They serve Britsh bread instead of French baguette. They do not even try to manage orders of the dishes. Pasta came first for one person before his soup. Each disch... More

The restaurant was amazing, extremely good. In all the places we visited, this was the best one. The service was excellent and all the waiters and waittresses were cheerful. There was a lot of choices for food, and the smooties were incredible. I recommend it to everybody!

I read about this training restaurant in a guide book and was excited to check it out. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. Food - I chose the vegetarian set menu. The tofu and tomato soup was pretty tasty, but needed some spices. After eating so much pho here in Hanoi, this soup was less seasoned in comparison. The... More

We wanted to visit this restaurant as we had read on Trip Advisor of the good cause it supports. The building they are in is obviously old, and colonial in appearance. We were the only customers in the evening we were there. My husband ordered a traditional Vietnamese duck dish, and I ordered Sole with Almonds. We also ordered a... More

. The Song Thu restaurant serves both Vienamese and French food in a lovely old French house in which students are trained in restaurant work and Hospitality. The charming supervisor sees that students do everything perfectly. Additionally the food is very good. The restaurant that night was not busy so we enjoyed talking to the supervisor and the wait staff... More

The place used to be near the Nikko Hotel, and it moved without notice. I thought it was gone. But then, I learned that it was at this new place! The food is very good, the sauce has depth in their taste, although I came here at lunch, and all the food tend to be just luke warm, not really... More

Very classy, good food and excellent cause. We spent Christmas Eve here and the price fixed menu was much more reasonable then other restaurants that we checked into. Our greeter was very friendly, spoke good English and was dressed in a really bad Santa Claus outfit. They gave us some excellent shortbread cookies when we left.

After going to the Museum of Ethnology, don't miss this restaurant right next to it. The food was really good, the service friendly and quick. The atmosphere lovely...they have nice patio dining. The restaurant trains disadvantaged youth. We highly recommend supporting this restaurant.

I have been several time to Song Thu Restaurant and despite its remote (new) emplacement from what Hanoi has to offer in touristic activities, Song Thu deserves a special attention. Indeed, this restaurant is part of Hoa Sua school's project to train disavantaged youth in the culinary/bakery and hospitality sector. So don't expect to have a 5 stars table service... More

The restaurant has two floors, we were at the upper floor. It had a very classy and cultivated feel, for example the waitress laid the napkins in our laps when she brought our meals. Quality was good, worth a visit if you're in the area.
