Tried to find it this evening, turns out its closed down and is becoming a Joma (good coffee). There is another western food place just up the road called puku where I am now - will review later...

great European food but doesn't serve any Vietnamese. Had the best meal in Hanoi here with a great cocktail and a wonderfully decadent chocolaty dessert (cant remember what it was but it had an oreo cookie base) There was a waitress who spoke the best English spoken by any Vietnamese we met in Vietnam who learnt it by watching movies.... Just over the road from Hanoi sky Hotel, makes this an easy choice. By Vietnamese standards you will find this an expensive place, but I found the food and service to be first rate. Especially if you dine after 5pm, which is their "Happy Hour"

Interesting location on a street which is packed with local restaurants. This is one of only two places on the street which cater for westerners. So plenty of street action to look at while you order. The restaurant is upstairs, and if you're luck you can sit on a deck outside. Food is fusion. Probably more international with a Vietnamese... I go there 1 or 2 times per month, generally for their Sunday burger, with couple of friends. We are always been happy with the food & service and I don't understand the previous negative comments. Most of the time we are welcomed at the entrance by one girl/boy who opens the door for us. Service is pretty good, though... More

Hanoi has fantastic Vietnamese food- no doubt, but if you want a great western meal, southgate is consistently high quality. If you order a dish one month, and then the next month you order it again - it is the same. They have really good quality control and the food is creative and delicious. The weird thing is that there... More

Boyfriend and I ate here two nights ago an it was spectacular. Drinks were promptly delivered and deliciously cold, the menu was clever and could be anywhere in the world. Make sure you order the steamed buns and the clams! They were our favourite. Fries and pannacotta also deserve a favorable mention. Mains were less thrilling but still very hearty... More

Very nice lounge to hang out for a couple a drinks before going out. I also like the brunches there during weekends. The menu does not have many choices but everything is good and well presented. Prices is a bit higher than other typical restaurants in Hanoi, but it is worth it. I will definitiely come back to try other... More

Smells just like an ashtray. I almost couldn't stay. And no one was smoking. What the hell were they doing here at night? The food was very good and the draft was delicious. $40 and worth it to me.
