Gordon Ramsay cooked in this restaurant so we wanted to try it. Also because the restaurant has reasonable prices. And Gordon Ramsey restaurant are way to expensive. My god.... it was heaven on earth. That is how food has to tast. We enjoyed every bit of it. And the next day we went back. We even got the VIP room.... More

We had dinner here with a group of 10. The restaurant is nice and the food itself was good. A bit pricy but a nice place in Hanoi. The problem was they were not able to deal with us as a group. Took a long time before everyone got his food and appetizers and main courses came in most cases... More

Traditional North Vietnamese food well cooked and presented is not always easy to find, but in Old Hanoi it is always there. An excellent place to try authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Ha Noi. The menu is clear, well presented in Vietnamese, English and Japanese. Set in a villa in a side street yet not far from Hoan Kiem Lake and... More

You'd expect a place which was "baptized" by Gordon Ramsay to be milking that cash cow more, but kudos to Old Hanoi for not making the place a tourist trap. The staff speaks little English but is super nice. The menu comes with a convenient set of pictures. We had beef in bamboo, pinapple and meat skewers, and claypot eggplant... More

Although this place is a little off the beaten path, it isn't far from the Hoan Kiem district ($1 US taxi ride from our hotel), and has a delicious menu (printed in Vietnamese, Japanese and English). Everything we had was delicious, the service was great, the owner visited us to say hello and thank us for our visit, the building... More

For a taste of the best of this world class cuisine with the added spice of experiencing a French  colonial era villa, don't miss a meal in Old Hanoi Restaurant. We had a set meal of  7 courses plus an eighth of sweet fruit. The spring rolls were crisp and scrumptious. The banana flower salad,  morning glory greens with garlic,... More

We went to Old Hanoi few minutes after arriving in Vietnam. We had the pre set menu, 10 courses, and it was a great start of what we would find at the streets the following days. The food was good, but for dessert we were expecting something more local than watermelon. We were put on a private room upstairs, which... More

Our visit to Hanoi was definitely enhanced by the cooking class we took at the Old Hanoi Restaurant. We chose to have a private class and it was an excellent experience. Our chef asked what we wanted to prepare (based on her number of great suggestions) and took us to the market, where she carefully explained what everything was. Back... More

We booked the set menu for 10 pax but the food is very very normal and almost same as food on the street, the staff requested us to order additional food even we already booked the set menu. Before booking the staff said the restaurant is very crowded at night and they had serve the piano for guest,...but finally there... More

Our first dining experience in Hanoi. The food was lovely and the staff attentive. We were part of a large group so were sat in the back if the restaurant, in a room that was somewhat faded. It smelled damp and the wall paper was peeling from the walls. The decor was shabby. A bust of Buddha sat behind glass,... More
