A picture on the toilet door is worth a thousand embarrassed folk...

We went over for dinner. We preferred to sit outside in the courtyard. The atmosphere was amazing and the coloured lanterns lent an ethereal glow. The food was delicious , the presentation amazing and the service was just superb. Totally a touch of class about Madame Hien Restaurant. It was not... read more

Ha Noi is not short of places to eat. In fact it's sometimes impossible to take in all the options. This place however remains my favourite. I travel to Ha Noi around four times a year and holiday mostly in France so a French/Vietnamese fusion restaurant is right up my street. Excellent menu and fantastic food. The service is also... The food was delicious , the presentation amazing and the service was just superb. Totally a touch of class about Madame Hien Restaurant. It was not overly priced either, even with the bottle of their... More

Lovely restaurant in a restored colonial villa in the heart of Hanoi. If you are fed up with traffic and beeping mopeds, this is the place where to find refuge. Magic athmosphere with beautiful frangipane trees and lanterns in the gated outdoor garden. I recommend the banana flower salad.

This place is an amazing experience from start to finish. The house is amazing and everything is perfect, cutlery etc. and the staff is just amazing. We ordered the “New Hanoi Cuisine Menu” for 855K VND (approx 38 US$) which is the most expensive meal I have had in Viet Nam (approx 20 dinners so far) and the best so... More

My colleague got lost while "leading" us to the restaurant, so we ended up eating elsewhere. However, after the meetings, we decided to try again and asked the hotel concierge for "more accurate" directions, and advised us to make a reservation. I'm so glad that we had a reservation even though it was Thursday evening and raining. The restaurant was... More

The food was lovely and the outside garden offered quietness in the otherwise busy centre of Hanoi. Menu offered great variety and as an expat living in Hanoi it is reasonably priced for the great service, food and location. What made the evening extra special was the helpfulness the manager showed when my wife proceeded to forget her handbag in... More

What a great setting. An historic 100 year old French colonial home . We ate upstairs. The servers were very attentive and met all our needs. Three of us ate the lunch special which gave you a chance to try different Vietnamese foods. The luncheon special was reasonable. The curry flavored ice cream was different but tasty. Alcoholic beverages were... More

Our hotel helped book a table for dinner, for a birthday celebration. When we arrived, we were given a quiet and dull room upstairs, away from the beautiful courtyard and first floor balcony. The music played was loud and basically not the type of ambience we would like to dine, what more a birthday dinner. I did request for another... More

We were really excited to be having dinner here and loved the courtyard and historic house setting. But then the food came. What a disappointment. It lacked flavours and inspiration and wasn't even warm. I'm not sure how it's getting so many glowing reviews? Maybe we hit a bad night, but I have seen some other reviews with a similar... More
