Nice, simple eating joint near to the cathedral. Bacon and eggs for breakfast and the hot mocha is great. Good service and go upstairs for the best view.

We loved La Place. Great location, great food. We liked the fact they mentioned on the table mats that the food was made with clean water and msg free.

La place is a good place even for a local. You can have a great view of beautiful St. Joseph's cathedral from balcony. You can't find a true local food here, the restaurant cooks local food in the way more suitable for foreigner. Western food also good here. Highly recommend for everybody.

Lovely little restaurant overlooking a small square. We ate here often and they were soon reserving us a table on the balcony without us asking. Food is very reasonably priced and tasty. Coconut chicken curry is good. Service friendly and efficient.

This small restaurant is in a beautiful location,a leafy square in front of St Joseph`s cathedral. We ate downstairs where you are looking out on the buzzy square.Nice tables upstairs too, with a balcony meeting the trees. Really well cooked food, nicely presented.Good Vietnamese standards and also Western options.I had a curry which was as good as you would get.Prices very reasonable,many... More

La Place is a charming restaurant in the Old Quarter, across the street from beautiful St. Joseph's cathedral. Wait for a table on the 2nd floor balcony (there are only 3). Since I live in Vietnam I wanted Western food for a change; I ordered the Caesar Salad, and I think it was one of the best I've ever had;... More

Another recommendation from the guide (he did better this time). It’s a shopfront café with a couple of floors (and a balcony) upstairs just opposite St Joseph’s cathedral. I had a Mango crepe and my partner had fresh spring rolls. Both were excellent although I thought mine would be some sort of mango salsa wrapped in a crepe. It was... More

Read about this cafe in a Lonely Planet guide and figured I'd give it a try. Just by the cathedral, it's split over three levels. Second level is a great spot, with a little balcony with views over the cathedral. Comfy seats inside, nice decoration with a really nice tiled floor. I had the Vietnamese iced coffee and the breakfast... More

Underrated place with only a few patrons during a Monday afternoon. Would have sat at the balcony if not for the hot humid weather. But inside seating wasn't too shabby as well! Had a iced Vietnamese coffee and just enjoyed the afternoon with the view of St Joseph Cathedral. Staff were friendly and didn't bother us much even thought we... More

We were recently in Ha Noi to finish off our European holiday. We have been to La Place a number of times and love everything about it. We look forward to being there again next year.
