A wonderful place!!! The food and service is fantastic. Every evening you can listen to live music both jazz and vietnamese while you are looking at the beautiful view over West lake. If you ever go to Hanoi go to Don's!

Don's is an upmarket restaurant / bar / music venue. On several levels including a semi outdoor (protected from the weather) rooftop with live music every night. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food selection is great. The chicken burger comes with fries, salad and a nice touch of a pickle on top. The basket of various... More

Unbelievable huge menu from local to international foods and great wine list. Fantastic location. Great staff - 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 desert 4 glasses of champers $52 USD and worth every cent. Lovely walk around lake afterwards to help with the full tummy. Also had live music most nights.

This restaurant is great ! A vast choice is offered to the customers, of dishes reflecting savors from all over the world, including vietnamese of course, but not only. The Chef has apparently travelled a lot and his cuisine reflects some of his travels. The location is great: the view on the Westlake is fantastic from this place. Do not... More

Thank you so very much for the great comment. We have some guests whom say the menu is too big, but they cannot appreciate why, how and for whom we have such a varied selection. The fact that you can appreciate it is wonderful. First of all I am an internationally trained Chef and the menu reflects my travels in... More

Menu difficult to fathom. Asian foods seem to consist of soup, salad, spring rolls or wraps, with the more expensive western options dominating the menu. My wife and I very disappointed with the lamb shanks we both ordered. Quality of food not living up to its description or price. Staff very surly.

I have just had dinner at Don's together with my husband. As a summary location is fine with normal views (nothing similar to Hong Kong bay or so) and dirty windows(that I understand it is because of thr rainy days here in Hanoi). In terms of the menu, I have never been in such a high ranking restaurant with such... More

Yes, I used to eat dog meat quite often and haven't eaten again for the past few years. I visited Don's on Jan 15th, and I ordered lamb thigh, I don't remember the exact name but it was a steamed dish. I was surprised how it tasted exactly like dog meat. I love it. Not because I loved dog meat,... More

We were pleasantly surprised by Don's bistro. It has excellent location by the lake and very pleasant decor inside. Food was tasty - good choice of salad and main dishes. The only drawback is that it's rather pricey place for Hanoi. We got a chance to meet the owner who's Canadian and seems to be very nice and welcoming person.... More

Dear Gabit, thank you for the kind review and comments. Although I use more foreign ingredients than many other places due to quality and safety issues and these can be much more expensive than other restaurants here. But we have many locally sources items on our menus that are very reasonably priced ie pizza, Vietnamese dishes, Meat Loaf, Salad, pastas... More
