We ate here on our last night in Hanoi so splurged a little and ordered a fair variety of food. It all arrived at the table within a short time despite the restaurant looking and sounding like a busy train station! Food was hot, tasty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed eating at the communal tables and shared conversations with fellow... More

These are the first words you will hear when you arrive at this restaurant. It doesn't matter how full they seem to be, they will always find space for you. It is noisy and chaotic, you will need to share a table and you will need to be very clear with your order. But the food arrives promptly, it is... More

Recommended by other travelers and they did not disappoint. The soft shell crab with tamarind sauce was to die for. The spicy frog legs was fall off the bone tender with yet another awesome sauce, I've been converted over to ordering these more often. It's so crowded and busy as a single, they sit you down on these tiny blue... More

Wow! This restaurant was situated on a street with hundreds yes literally hundreds of vietnamese sat talking and eating street food on the pavements.....such a great sight. The place was heaving! Organised chaos....staff excellent. Unfortunately food was the least tasty we had in Hanoi, also they couldn't wait to get you out!

Our hotel receptionist told us to go in this restaurant 1 block away to eat some vietnamese food. We went there and ordered the set menu for 5 USD (vietnam soup, hanoi spring roll, sticky rice with meat and a yoghurt). The set menu was very good and you can taste many foods from here. The best one was the... More

We went here as the place was recommended by a local lady at our hotel. What a find. Hard to get a table because it is so popular, but worth it if you persist. You can go and watch the cooks cooking each of the dishes in the kitchen if you wish and pick something out from there. Meals were... More

After a long days travel we wanted a meal not too far away and our hotel receptionist directed us around the corner into Ma May to Newday. I have to say it isn't picture postcard but it doesn't need to be, this restaurant serves stunning Vietnamese fare. The service and value both excellent and the waste basket at foot of... More

Newday was by far the best meal we had in Vietnam! The food is amazing, prices good, and service very friendly. The shared tables make for an entertaining experience. Vietnamese meals cooked to perfection. Great for lunch, dinner or even breakfast. We couldn't get enough and went back 4 times!!!

The restaurant winds over several floors and a couple of buildings via holes in the wall. Great atmosphere to match some great food. The prices are much less that inferior restaurants nearby.
