La Badiane is an excellent French restaurant in Hanoi. The location is easy to find and in the heart of the city. The foie gras was very tasty as was the duck. It's a great find and the staff couldn't be more pleasant.

After eating the local food, we decided that we wanted a Western European meal. That was how we found La Badiane. The food is excellent - and they will cook the meat to your (British) taste. Wine was French, and the whole meal was relatively inexpensive. Just to show it must be French, my main course plate was served by... More

We were very impressed with every aspect of this little restaurant. The location, setting, service, atmosphere, menu, and not least food, were all excellent. We had the duck and the scallops. We can highly recommend both. I wanted to eat everything on my plate AND my daughters plate as well.... it was that good!. The service was all spot on.... More

Lovely food, great ambiance and reasonable pricing. I'm a vegetarian and it is not easy to get good French vegetarian. La Badiane had a good selection and everything tasted awesome. Great for a night to get away from the hustle of Hanoi and to enjoy a quiet, beautiful dinner.

After two years on my last visit on La Badiane, i just came to Hanoi solo, for few hours only & fly back home. I try the beef carpaccio as starter, beef was fantastic correctely size slided, wasabi mayo a bit soft and the dip-sauce vinegrette was a bit dominante taste. Lamb for maine course absolutly juicy, tasty! A surprise... More

We went there during our visit in Hanoi, the starters and main was good. However the few desserts we had was only average, infact their ice cream & sherbet was below average, the pistachio ice cream taste very artifical and the cherry sherbet taste like medicine....

The restaurant is very cute in a charming little house. The food was excellent from the 1st course all the way to last. The service was excellent. Rarely do we see such friendly staff willing to go above and beyond to make your experience worthwhile. If you are in Hanoi and feel like trying some French food, this is it.

This is one of several great french restaurants in Hanoi. The influence of the french on Vietnamese cuisine makes for some wonderful places to eat. This is a nice colonial style building in an upscale neighborhood. And the food didn't disappoint. We shared the asparagus and crab remoulade appetizer, then the duck with sweet potatoes and prawn lasagne in saffron... More

The setting is a modest but charming colonial house. The food was excellent: some of us a la carte while one tried the lunch menu. From starter to dessert, it was flavorful, creative, and the fusion with vietnamese influence was original and delightful. Highly recommended. Reservation needed for Friday and Sat night.

While it's true that this restaurant is expensive for Vietnam, they are serving world class cuisine. Everything is presented artfully, to the point that it might seem precious if every bite weren't so fantastically good. Highlights were the lamb shank, the stuffed eggplant and prosciutto appetizer, the crab remoulade appetizer, and the scallops with squid ink pasta (and blue curaçao... More
