Lovely French food when you need a change of pace

Excellent French food (and European style dishes) in a very charming and welcoming house. All of the dishes were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Staff are welcoming and attentive and it is a very relaxing atmosphere.

I went with my wife and did so on the basis of the reviews the restaurant has. So let's try this gastronomic restaurant. However, I was totally underwhelmed. We had the salmon tartar with goat cheese, the salmon was definitely not looks fresh and also the crab remoulade nothing special for a gastronomic restaurant. For our main courses, the Australian... I've only eaten the prix fixe menu, but all three meals have great. The beef is one of the best pieces I've had, and the scallops are also terrific. Portions are not large, however. The cheapest wine is about $40, and the cheaper prix fixe menu is about $50. You're not going to this place for price, though. There is... More

The set lunches here are extremely worth it, given the portions, presentation and, most importantly the taste. I think I had a SGD $40 4-course set lunch which also came with bread and a drink choice of either tea or coffee. (I had iced Vietnamese coffee as pictured.) I enjoyed each course, especially my dessert, which was vanilla ice cream... More

While the restaurant is hidden back in the alley and it took us some time to direct the taxi driver to this restaurant, it's a must visit place in Hanoi. The food served were extremely good. Love the lobster bisque and the desserts. There's even some wine tasting session on-the-go as we visit the restaurant full of expats. The service... More

In Hanoi on business when the owner of another restaurant who is a friend of a friend told my group to try this place. Its in a small street not far from the center of town. Very nice ambiance (with a French feel), great food, great service. In a two week trip to Hanoi it was my favorite place by... More

I went to La Badiane at about 3 PM on a Saturday afternoon, late lunch. Knew about the restaurant from reviews here. I ordered two appetizers and finished the meal with the fromage/cheese plate. All three items served were excellent. The appetizer portions are relatively large. They were not simply prepared, a complex combination of fresh and prepared items. Used... More
